Role Summary Rowan is seeking a Director of Procurement to develop and implement the platform that supports and streamlines equipment procurement for data center campus and power acceleration builds. This role serves as a key connector between the Procurement team and Rowan digital infrastructure to ensure seamless delivery of DC infrastructure and power acceleration projects. In conjunction with the Sr. Director, you will develop a program to manage the procurement of power generation assets, BESS, power systems, and control topologies for power generation deployments. You'll apply your leadership skills in strategic planning, coordination, budgeting, and stakeholder alignment to manage procurement activities from planning and design through execution. This includes developing a system and hiring a team to manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs), vendor relationships, contract reviews, payment terms, and delivery coordination. You will help bridge teams and drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Travel: Ability to travel up to 35% to project locations and manufacturing facilities for expediting, site visits, RFP requirements, and initial delivery management. Location: Denver, CO (3 day hybrid in-office role) Compensation: $170-$215K (Offers Bonus)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven sales or procurement experience in construction for a mid-to-large-scale GC
  • Background in data center development or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Experience in paralleling generation assets and associated control topologies
  • Experience managing sizable projects or a portfolio of multiple initiatives
  • Experience and reliable network in power generation supply chains
  • Understanding of paralleling Switchgear at LV and MV and the relevant suppliers
  • Experience leading teams and developing SOPs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Prior project management experience, with skills transferable to procurement preferred
  • Prior Sales experience in technical sales in power systems preferred
  • Familiarity with hyperscale data center procurement processes preferred
  • Expertise in managing Service Contracts with OEM suppliers preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plans and build a procurement system for power generation
  • Lead the Procurement of generation assets for Rowan
  • Lead the Procurement for Electrical SWGR and associated products for the generation plants
  • Build a team and platform to manage multiple power acceleration projects simultaneously
  • Develop a platform to share critical information between the key stakeholders in finance, water, energy, sustainability, construction, site origination and engineering
  • Manage the full procurement cycle for LLE/OFCI equipment required for back up generation and on-site primary power systems, from need identification to order finalization and timely delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and rental companies to support the team with real-time market data and available assets for deployment
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure optimal outcomes and returns with an emphasis on acquiring new vendor relationships to support multiple 300MW projects concurrently
  • Oversee the equipment procurement budget, ensuring purchases meet delivery schedule
  • Support engineering in product application to conceptual electrical systems
  • Implement a platform to monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with service levels and timelines and ensure procurement adheres to legal, safety, and environmental standards
