About The Position

The Director, Prepare Clinic provides leadership for the UCSF Prepare program across the health system, including integration of programs across UCSF’s Pediatric and Network facilities. The Director will have purview over the development and implementation of ongoing quality improvement through an array of regulatory compliance, policies and programs, funding/funds flow/productivity, training and technical assistance, data and information sharing, and partnerships and collaborations. The Director, Prepare Clinic will provide direct management to all Prepare staff across the enterprise, and collaborate with faculty physicians. The Director, Prepare Clinic will serve as a single point of contact, liaison, and expertise for matters specific to the Prepare Clinic. The Director, Prepare Clinic possesses the advanced education, knowledge, clinical skills, and experience necessary to diagnose and treat patients in their area of specialization. They demonstrate self-direction and accountability in the development of this role within the health system. The Director needs to engage in the alignment of practice oversight and workflows amongst all UCSF campuses. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $253,900 - $269,400 (Annual Rate). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Registered Nurse in the State of California
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • 1-2 years of Perioperative nursing management experience, with progressive and in-depth expertise in pre-anesthesia clinic services
  • Knowledge of pre-anesthesia and perioperative services in an academic medical center setting
  • Strong understanding of preoperative patient preparation, including evaluation, diagnostic testing, Cardiac and pulmonary knowledge
  • Ensures Magnet structure and processes are implemented and maintained by promoting evidence-based practices and collaborative governance
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to foster and promote an environment for effective communication and collaborative decision making across multiple units and disciplines
  • Excellent leadership, fiscal and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management and staff from all disciplines
  • Knowledge of appropriate professional standards
  • Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration and collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in nursing or relevant area
  • Demonstrated ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document APP performance
  • Knowledge of business software, specialized applications and data management systems used in clinics / clinical departments
  • Registered Nurse in the State of California
