About The Position

The Director, Outpatient Applications works collaboratively with other leaders
to support operational and strategic goals of the organization. The Director is
responsible for leading the Epic Ambulatory clinical application and overseeing
the management, implementation, and optimization of software applications used
in the outpatient care environment of the Brooklyn Hospital Center. This
includes Electronic Health Records (EHR), clinical documentation systems,
patient management systems, and other critical healthcare Information Technology
solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in a relevant field of study.
• At least eight (8) years of EHR application development experience for a health provider, health plan or accountable care organization including:  Epic clinical or financial decision support, medical economics, quality reporting, revenue cycle management, population health management or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years of experience leading analyst.
• Must have experience with Epic’s Clinical Inpatient or Outpatient application tools.
• EPIC Clinical Documentation Certification (or ability to get certified after employment).
• Demonstrated ability to articulate goals, plan and implement processes to achieve those goals, identify/remediate risks, and meet deadlines.
• Advanced interpersonal (e.g., mediating, mentoring, teaching) skills required to serve stakeholders effectively.
• Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently, and to exercise independent judgment in developing complex techniques or programs in a dynamic environment.
• Skills in navigating complex organizational relationships, with a strong record of accomplishment of driving organizational cultural change.  Politically astute; understands dynamics of relationships and will remain balanced and objective.
• Effective and highly credible working relations with individuals at all levels of the organization, from entry-level to the medical staff. 
• A tenacious drive for results, utilizing sound project management, organizational, information systems and problem-solving skills. 
• A natural ability to effectively work with others in ways that fosters personal and professional ownership.  Open, fair, and willing to engage others in issues that may potentially be controversial or unpopular.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s Degree – HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Patient Care Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse or clinical equivalent – strongly preferred.
