About The Position

CUMULUS MEDIA | Westwood One has an immediate opening for a full-time Director, Opinion Talk Sales to support the Opinion Talk Sales Team. This role is a key part of the Westwood One Opinion Talk vertical, focused on monetizing premium audio content and maximizing revenue through new business development and national advertising partnerships. The ideal candidate will be skilled at creating demand in a complex media environment, leveraging Westwood One’s marquee, personality-driven assets across news, entertainment, and sports. This person will collaborate closely with the SVP, Opinion Talk, and other Westwood One Sales Executives to deliver strategic, result-driven advertising solutions.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in personality or media sales
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Radio and Broadcasting, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Willingness to travel to meet with clients and prospects
  • Strong understanding of advertising solutions including live talk shows, personality-driven podcasts, and sponsorship sales
  • Creative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting to a diverse range of prospects and clients

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert on all Opinion Talk broadcast and podcast personalities, including Dan Bongino, Full Send, Chris Van Vliet, Mark Levin, Benny Johnson, Jim Rome, Carson Daly, Drake Toll, and others
  • Create demand and generate advertising sales for our Opinion Talk products
  • Prospect and qualify leads, then meet with them to uncover key insights that drive program development and close deals
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the Opinion Talk marketplace and sponsorship landscape
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and execute Opinion Talk packages
  • Track and exceed Opinion Talk revenue and market share goals
  • Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations
  • Build and execute multi-faceted campaigns tailored to client objectives
  • Analyze sales reports and market data to identify and pursue growth opportunities
