About The Position

Aligned Modern Health (“AMH”) is seeking a Director of Web and SEO to join its growing team. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the primary responsibilities of the position are to own every aspect of alignedmodernhealth.com – it’s performance, architecture, analytics and growth. You are a builder who embraces AI-powered tools to keep up with strong patient demand. The ideal candidate will be strategic, technical with great design capabilities, and data driven. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at a pivotal moment as we are actively scaling with the website being the front door to our services. This is a Chicago-based company, however, the role is currently remote. The role pays $130,000 to $140,000 depending on experience.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Business or related field
  • 7+ years of experience owning or directing a high-traffic website with direct accountability for SEO and digital performance
  • Expert-level SEO knowledge across technical, local, content, and E-E-A-T, with a proven track record of measurable organic growth in competitive or YMYL verticals
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical SEO issues including crawl budget waste, JavaScript rendering problems, and indexation errors at scale
  • Proficiency with WordPress and its ecosystem; familiarity with WP Engine, WP Bakery or similar page builders
  • Deep expertise in GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and leading SEO platforms (SEMrush, etc.)
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations
  • Experience managing web development projects and collaborating with internal or agency developers
  • Proven ability to use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Lovable, etc.) to accelerate your work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, wellness, or a multi-location consumer services business
  • Familiarity with HIPAA considerations in digital marketing and web forms
  • Experience with CRM integration (Salesforce) and marketing attribution modeling
  • Knowledge of local SEO at scale — managing 20+ GMB profiles, citation building, review management
  • Experience with scheduling platforms and patient booking integrations

Responsibilities

  • Own the full technical health, uptime, speed, and security of alignedmodernhealth.com (WordPress/WP Engine environment)
  • Manage day-to-day site operations including content publishing, plugin updates, hosting, DNS, and third-party integrations
  • Lead all site development projects — from scoping and sprint planning through QA and deployment
  • Build and maintain scalable page templates and systems to support rapid new location and service launches
  • Translate our brand into a trustworthy product design – and have a mastery for AI tools to drive efficiency with publishing
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive national SEO strategy covering technical SEO, on-page optimization, local SEO, and link building
  • Own keyword research, topical authority mapping, and content architecture to drive deep organic visibility for each service line across all markets, with content depth that signals genuine expertise and not just coverage
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical SEO issues (crawl budget management, JavaScript rendering, log file analysis at scale) and continuously improve Core Web Vitals, indexation health, schema markup, and site architecture
  • Build out and optimize location pages and virtual care landing pages to dominate search in new geographic markets
  • Build and maintain E-E-A-T signals across the site, including provider bios, author pages, clinical citations, and trust architecture, to compete effectively in Google’s most scrutinized YMYL (healthcare) category
  • Track and report on organic traffic, rankings, and ROI with clear attribution to new patient acquisition
  • Build repeatable digital infrastructure to support rapid entry into new states and markets — including templated local SEO, landing pages, and GMB management at scale
  • Own GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush and partner with our head of acquisition analytics to bring forward insights around performance to connect website performance to business KPIs
  • Run a hypothesis-driven CRO program including A/B tests, heatmaps, funnel analysis, and patient journey research to continuously improve conversion from organic visits to booked appointments
  • Partner with our operations and analytics team to ensure clean attribution from first click through patient visit
  • Champion the adoption of AI tools across the digital function — from AI-assisted content creation and SEO research to automated testing and personalization
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging tools and platforms that give Aligned Modern Health a competitive digital edge
  • Stay ahead of Google’s AI-driven search evolution, including AI Overviews and generative engine optimization (GEO), and proactively adapt our content, structured data, and E-E-A-T strategy to maintain visibility
