This role includes assessing physical, cognitive, and emotional capacities to determine vocational readiness and creating customized employment plans. The Director leads a team in implementing community-based work opportunities and vocational rehabilitation programs that promote independence, dignity, and purpose for the individuals served.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field (PhD preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation or supported employment, preferably with individuals with TBI or developmental disabilities.
  • Licensure in relevant fields (Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or related).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to community employment sites.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, disability rights, and vocational rehabilitation best practices.
  • Experience in assessment and goal development using person-centered planning approaches.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and collaborating with employers.
  • Knowledge of vocational programming and evidence-based rehabilitation methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or another relevant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive vocational assessments evaluating the physical, psychological, social, and cognitive abilities of individuals with TBI.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized vocational goals based on the strengths and interests of each person served.
  • Design, implement, and supervise vocational rehabilitation programs, including pre-employment training, supported employment, job coaching, and community-based work opportunities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local employers and community organizations to create inclusive employment opportunities.
  • Provide direct supervision, training, and support to vocational staff and job coaches.
  • Monitor individuals' progress toward their vocational goals and adjust plans as needed to ensure success.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, Medicaid waivers, and person-centered planning requirements.
  • Maintain documentation, case notes, and program data according to state and organizational standards.
  • Advocate for the rights and capabilities of individuals with TBI in the workplace and the community.
  • Develop and manage the department budget and vocational programming
