About The Position

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Director of Value Based Care is responsible for driving operating processes, owning projects, leading, and developing strong teams to deliver successful outcomes in value-based care. They will partner effectively with all key internal and external stakeholders and be able to excel working in an ambiguous environment. The Director will bring both the energy and initiative necessary to build, where necessary, and scale an operating platform across all payers with risk-based healthcare contracts.

Requirements

  • BSN or bachelor’s degree in health care management
  • 8+ years of experience within a healthcare and/or managed care operations
  • Previous experience in a senior leadership role in Value Based Care
  • Familiar with managed care products, healthcare operations, delivery systems, process improvement, and organizational effectiveness

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Function in a highly matrixed, fast-paced and team-based environment.
  • Function as part of the agilon health market leadership team to drive initiatives with providers, payers and the agilon team that supports the market.
  • Manage the agilon Market Profit and Loss statement, create an annual budget and review operating performance with COO
  • Partner effectively with Physician leadership and Medical Director to drive Market operations
  • Responsible for execution of crafted strategy and business plan while working under the direction of the Piedmont HealthCare COO, agilon Market President, and PHC Board.
  • Responsibility for performance improvement initiatives
  • Serves as primary lead with the health plans on operational matters & supports with health plan strategic initiatives
  • Oversee and support growth activities related to membership
  • Supports the operational infrastructure, with ongoing focus on organizational effectiveness, continued integration with agilon health; focusing on how we enhance the ability to manage quality, utilization and the cost-of-care.
  • Support the development of innovative care models to create a world-class patient experience with high quality care that drives improved patient outcomes.
  • Oversee project management functions including scope planning, schedule development, resource planning, budgeting, project plan development and maintenance, risk management, reporting, implementation, measures development, and project wrap up.
  • Drive high quality results by focusing on supporting organizational needs.
  • Leverage and embrace technology to drive process improvement, operational efficiency, and improved clinical results.
  • Develop and communicate presentations effectively and confidently for key stakeholders, included but not limited to staff, managers, providers, senior leadership, and board of directors.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to continue to define and support the agilon culture within the market and across the company
  • Work collaboratively with all payers across the PHC Value based care continuum
  • Work with COO to negotiate appropriate VBC contracts
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed partnership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
