About The Position

The Director of Training and Operations Excellence for Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is responsible for strategic planning, testing development, and implementation and deployment of company initiatives. This role is also responsible for leading the development, coordination, and implementation of all field-level training programs to support brand initiatives to improve sales, customer loyalty, and employee engagement. The Director of Training works directly with the Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar Leadership Team to develop short and long-term training and people development goals; leads the training and operations excellence teams with clear purpose and meaning and provides dedicated field support for all strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years senior level management experience in hospitality industry
  • 3-5 years of experience in Training & Development
  • Experience in managing and deploying processes, systems and operational training for a large, multi-unit audience
  • Familiarity with the methods and principles for designing programs to teach and train both groups and individuals, including the means of assessing the effects of training
  • Leads a highly collaborative team
  • Fosters the growth of others through recognition, constructive feedback, and development opportunities
  • Leverages experience and subject matter expertise to propose solutions to current and future challenges
  • Takes a forward-thinking approach to planning, developing, and leading initiatives that support restaurant teams and meet business objectives

Responsibilities

  • Selects, trains, develops, and assesses individual and team performance, and provides clear and timely feedback.
  • Identifies areas and priorities for individual and team improvement for coaching and developing specific skills.
  • Recognize, nurture, reward, and mentor team talent.
  • Leads strategic operational projects and collaborates with functional experts to ensure successful completion of projects from test to implementation.
  • Creates and improves systems and processes to add value to the organization and support accomplishing long range plans.
  • Develops training strategy, methodology and delivery medium (e-learning, classroom, blended learning) collaboratively, ensuring strategy and deliverables are aligned.
  • Manages restaurant training programs and initiatives, and directly supports the successful design, development, implementation, maintenance, tracking, and promotion of educational programs, initiatives, materials, and tools to meet the learning needs of the organization.
  • Meets budgetary guidelines. Evaluates the cost effectiveness and ROI of all strategic initiatives and training programs/materials.
  • Responsible for engaging the field through effective, persuasive communication that is tailored to the audience and timed for success.
  • Conducts training needs assessments by analyzing business data and trends to provide effective training solutions that address these needs and motivate learning.
