About The Position

This position reports to and is evaluated by the Director of Facilities and Operations and oversees matters relating to technology planning, implementation, maintenance, and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field
  • Minimum three years experience overseeing IT teams and projects
  • Strong knowledge of information technology
  • Experience working in IT operations
  • A strong, clear Christian testimony (Ephesians 4:1)
  • A lifestyle of biblical integrity (1 Peter 3:16)
  • Believe and actively support the OCS Parent Covenant, Statement of Faith, Statement on Marriage and Sexuality, Statement on Diversity and Core Values (all attached)
  • Have a conviction that God has called him/her to Christian School teaching (Romans 12:7)
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (1 Peter 5:2)
  • Maintain high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in all personal and professional matters
  • Actively involved in church (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • Follows Matthew 18 principle in dealing with interpersonal conflict
  • A spirit of dedication, teamwork, flexibility, and responsiveness
  • The ability to respond to counsel (Proverbs 13:18)

Responsibilities

  • Model victorious Christian living to students and families (Philippians 2:1-5)
  • Pray for students, parents, staff and entire OCS community (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
  • Ensure that a biblical, Christ-centered perspective is integrated into all aspects of the technology office
  • Provide organizational and spiritual leadership for the technology office staff
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures governing the operation of the school
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of all policies, procedures, and handbooks
  • Respect professional ethics that require confidentiality concerning the sharing of information about children, parents or staff
  • Attends and arrives punctually to scheduled devotional, committee and faculty meetings
  • Maintains professional dress and appearance as specified in the Employee Handbook
  • Represents the school in a favorable and professional manner to its constituency
  • Maintain professional and effective relationships with the administrative team
  • Recommend hiring and dismissal of technology employees
  • Delegate and assign responsibilities to technology office staff
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of technology office staff
  • Ensure technology employees are encouraged, developed, and supported
  • Coordinate with the administrative team to organize and implement professional development opportunities
  • Effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty, and staff as needed
  • Coordinate with Director of Facilities and Operations to maintain clean, safe, and functional technology space
  • Monitor and adhere to the annual technology budget through collaboration with the Director of Finance, Director of Facilities and Operations, and Headmaster
  • Oversee purchasing of technology related items and ensure purchases align with the OCS technology plan and budget
  • Maintain clear records for accountability and auditing purposes
  • Guide OCS in the planning and implementation of technology
  • Meet with principals, and other administrators to evaluate current programs, assess needs, and prepare for future implementations of technology and school based technology instructional goals
  • Lead the technology committee in designing the technology plan to guide technology and meet ACSI requirements
  • Stay current with trends in education and technology to make recommendations for the direction of OCS technology
  • Guide principals and teachers in effective technology use
  • Oversee technology infrastructure to provide a secure and productive network
  • Evaluate internet, content filtering, and virus protection providers annually
  • Upgrade and maintain servers, switches, and fiber optics
  • Prepare for network expansion according to the technology plan
  • Prepare backup procedures and disaster recovery plan
  • Analyze departmental business requirements to determine technology needs
  • Coordinate with principals and technology staff to offer technology related professional development for staff
  • Coordinate instruction and documentation for the effective use of technology
  • Oversee instruction to encourage technology integration
  • Oversee data management needs of the school
  • Guide the standardization of data entry for the student information system
  • Provide yearly updates and maintenance of student data for student information system, library systems, and emergency communication system
  • Support use of the student information system
  • Install and update software
  • Follow software licensing requirement and maintain licensing records
  • Properly dispose of old hardware
  • Oversees phone system and serves as a liaison between OCS and Nobel
  • Support the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible. (Back to School Worship night, Big Bash, Saints 5K, Drama production, Athletic Events, Band performances, Fine Arts night, Carnivals, etc.)
  • Treats all school owned technology (hardware and software) with respect, care, professionalism and in accordance with the Technology Use Agreement
