Director of System Strategy and Market Intelligence

Catholic HealthMelville, NY
9d$145,000 - $185,000

About The Position

Catholic Health is seeking a high-caliber Director of System Strategy & Market Intelligence to architect the long-term growth of our integrated health system. This is a technical leadership role designed for a "strategist-analyst" who has mastered the art of extracting, scrubbing, and synthesizing multi-source data into actionable system-wide initiatives. Unlike a traditional planning role, this position requires a candidate who has moved beyond practice-level management to oversee entire hospital systems. You will lead the full strategic planning cycle, utilizing deep-dive market analytics and competitor intelligence to guide executive decision-making across our six hospitals and physician network.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree Required: MHA, MBA, or related field. Healthcare consulting experience is highly preferred.
  • Data Mastery: Proven ability to manage and "scrub" large datasets; expert-level proficiency in strategic planning tools, RMIS, or related health-analytics platforms.
  • Project Management: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project Manager; ability to build agile processes from the ground up.
  • System-Level Expertise: Minimum of 7–10 years of increasing responsibility within large healthcare systems or top-tier healthcare consultancies.
  • Proven Impact: Demonstrated success in leading high-stakes corporate initiatives at the system level (not limited to individual practices or single-office environments).

Responsibilities

  • Corporate Initiatives: Direct and manage high-profile corporate planning initiatives that impact the entire Catholic Health system.
  • Service Line Optimization: Partner with executive leaders to define clinical program growth, diversification, and divestment across the health system.
  • Strategic Cycle Management: Facilitate the annual strategic planning cycle, redefining imperatives and monitoring metrics via an executive dashboard.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop detailed milestone plans and assess risk mitigation strategies for all large-scale corporate initiatives.
  • Data Synthesis: Take full ownership of pulling, scrubbing, and analyzing data from multiple sources to perform market research and environmental assessments.
  • Feasibility & Positioning: Establish market and analytical feasibility assessments for emerging partnerships and new strategic opportunities.
  • Competitor Intel: Maintain a constant pulse on regional competitor initiatives, assessing Catholic Health’s service adequacy and accessibility relative to the market.
  • Executive Presentation: Synthesize complex data findings into persuasive, concise presentations for the Board and Executive Leadership.
  • Liaison Functions: Work with business development and financial planning teams to provide the analytics and insights necessary to optimize key initiative implementations.
  • Policy Monitoring: Stay ahead of legislative, payer, and industry changes, anticipating how market shifts will impact system-wide strategy.

Benefits

  • generous benefits packages
  • generous tuition assistance
  • a defined benefit pension plan
  • a culture that supports professional and educational growth
