About The Position

The Director of Support, Engagement, and Advocacy is a key district-level leadership position responsible for championing a safe and supported educational and school experience for all students. The Director will work in close partnership with school administrators, staff, families, and community stakeholders to cultivate and implement district-wide practices where every student is seen, heard, and valued. An essential component of the role is to lead systemic and data-informed efforts to ensure students-including, but not limited to, students of color, students with disabilities, English-language learners, economically disadvantaged students, LGBTQIA+ and any underrepresented or marginalized students-have equitable access to educational and enrichment opportunities available throughout the district.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a school or district leadership role with a focus on supporting students from diverse demographic, cognitive, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • DESE Administrative Certification/ Licensure.
  • Demonstrated experience with the successful implementation of systematic educational programming related to the Massachusetts education landscape and DESE frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, families, teachers, and administrators.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and grant writing.
  • Experience in building and managing teams.
  • Experience interpreting and applying data findings to create, strengthen, and expand programs and policies.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and/or background in psychology

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and evaluation of a district-wide Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework to provide targeted academic and social-emotional (SEL) support for all students.
  • Develop and drive a strategic plan to support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts throughout the district, and ensure those efforts are strongly linked with comprehensive SEL efforts.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the district and families, developing proactive strategies to engage caregivers as partners in their child's education.
  • Ensure all student support, engagement, and discipline policies are in alignment with local, state, and federal laws and are administered in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Oversight of evidence-based curriculum, including but not limited to SEL, DEI, bullying, and digital literacy.
