To learn more about Team OC please visit https://www.orthocarolina.com/about-us The Director of Supply Chain Management (DSCM) is responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing a dynamic and responsive supply chain that delivers high-quality services at the lowest possible cost. The DSCM leads efforts to establish and sustain standards and best practices for a model supply chain, including the ongoing development and enhancement of policies, procedures, and methodologies aligned with the organization’s strategic direction and sound supply chain management principles. This role oversees materials and services management, purchasing, contracting, and the administration of the ERP system across all OC entities. Serving as the primary liaison between vendors and facilities, the DSCM oversees daily supply chain operations and drives the integration, development, and continuous improvement of policies and procedures that support efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Military experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 7+ years of purchasing or inventory management experience, preferably in a medical setting
  • 5 years in vendor relations experience, including contract and pricing negotiations.
  • At least 3 years in contract management and analysis experience.
  • At least 2 years leading the management of an ERP system

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages all facility Supply Chain activities, coordinates, and evaluates Supply Chain operations personnel.
  • Facilitates the organization’s Request for Proposal (RFP) framework
  • Determines staff qualifications and competence, recommends enough qualified/competent staff.
  • May be required to leverage strategic sourcing or vendor partnerships for resource needs.
  • Creates a supportive environment for supply chain staff development and the delivery of supply chain solutions.
  • Executes the implementation of the standardization programs for all supply chain functions.
  • Facilitates the implementation of market-based purchasing projects.
  • Executes the implementation and operational plan for all the point of use purchasing systems.
  • Raises and resolves facility-based supply chain issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommends resources to satisfy business needs and participate in the selection of outside services.
  • Coordinates and drives efforts to enable supply improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitates the standardization of products and optimize supply utilization through effective collaboration with Physicians and clinicians.
  • Manages the facility implementation of SCM plans, identify and mitigate risks and monitor resource allocations to ensure successful execution of plan.
  • Executes the Supply Chain Performance Measurement plan and report these results to the executive leadership team.
  • Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care of the services delivered.
  • Executes a continuous improvement program for supply chain functions.
  • Performs other purchasing duties as may be required.
  • Manages the evolution of OC’s ERP system.
