About The Position

We are accepting applications for a Director of Student Support for SY26-27 who is passionate about supporting students and staff in a bilingual environment. The Director of Student Support oversees LAMB’s intervention, mental health, English learner, and special education programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements while bridging the gap between special education and Montessori education.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Education or related field
  • At least 4 years of relevant special education program administration experience
  • At least of 5 years of management experience
  • Bilingual - Spanish/English
  • Experience supervising and coaching and developing adults
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of an analytic, problem solving mindset
  • Montessori certification or background (AMI/AMS)
  • Advanced experience developing compliance systems and reporting processes

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the successful implementation of LAMB’s Special Education, MTSS Intervention, Mental Health, and English Learner (EL) programs, promoting an inclusive environment aligned with Montessori philosophy and practices
  • Develop and refine the infrastructure, systems, and processes necessary to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of Student Support Services
  • Ensure full compliance with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and all applicable local and state regulations
  • Provide ongoing professional development, coaching, and support to staff implementing Tier II and Tier III interventions for all staff
  • Lead the coordination and alignment of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) across the school
  • Use data to monitor student progress, inform decision-making, and adjust supports to meet student needs
  • Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, and families to ensure equitable access to services and strong student outcomes
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and shared responsibility for all learners.
  • Ensure LAMB’s Student Support staff portal remains accurate and updated
  • Supervise the Student Support Team, 504 and Interventions Coordinator, EL Coordinator, Mental Wellness Team, and Behavior Interventionist, ensuring the effective delivery of targeted supports for students in need of interventions, with strong fidelity of implementation and equitable access to services for all students
  • Supervise the Special Education Manager and Compliance Manager, ensuring high-quality individualized services and alignment across tiers
  • Provide direct support and guidance to both Tier II and Tier III teams to ensure coherence, collaboration, and fidelity of implementation
  • Support in development and maintenance of school wide tracking systems and data review for academics in Tier II and Tier III
  • Ensure comprehensive data reviews and progress monitoring drive selection of interventions, revision to plans and programs, and consideration of additional or alternative supports
  • Design or select high quality research-based interventions and academic supports
  • Support the school in implementation of dyslexia regulations and review of DIBELS and Lectura screenings
  • Facilitate data-based discussions to help the MDT design IEPs to best support student growth
  • Collaborate with school leadership teams to assist with the overall evaluation of inclusionary practices to identify and develop strategies for improvement
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Principal on student behavior
  • Encourage implementation of new instructional procedures and/or techniques designed to enhance intervention and special education department's programmatic goals
  • Facilitate small-group and whole-staff professional development on Tier II and Tier III supports, as needed based on staff and student needs.
  • Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and meetings to stay abreast of current topics in special education and interventions
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned
