About The Position

Wiley University seeks a student-centered, fair, and culturally grounded leader to serve as Director of Student Conduct. This role is responsible for the administration, oversight, and continuous improvement of the University’s student conduct process, ensuring alignment with institutional values, due process, and student development. The Director will lead a conduct program that is not just punitive, but educational focused on accountability, growth, and restoring community. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in student conduct, student affairs, or related area
  • Strong knowledge of student conduct practices, due process, and higher education regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Integrity and sound judgment
  • Cultural competence and student-centered mindset
  • Conflict resolution and investigative skills
  • Strong communication (written and verbal)
  • Ability to balance accountability with empathy

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field
  • Experience working in an HBCU or mission-driven educational environment
  • Familiarity with restorative justice models and student development theory

Responsibilities

  • Student Conduct Administration Oversee the student conduct process from intake through resolution, ensuring fairness, consistency, and timeliness
  • Interpret and enforce the Student Code of Conduct in alignment with institutional policy and applicable laws
  • Adjudicate cases involving academic and non-academic misconduct, including high-level or sensitive matters
  • Ensure all processes uphold principles of due process and equity Case Management & Investigations
  • Review incident reports and determine appropriate course of action
  • Conduct or oversee investigations, including interviewing students, faculty, and staff
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential records of all conduct cases
  • Partner with campus stakeholders (Campus Safety, Housing, Title IX, Academic Affairs) on complex cases Educational & Restorative Practices
  • Develop and implement educational sanctions and interventions that promote accountability and growth
  • Incorporate restorative justice practices where appropriate to rebuild community and repair harm
  • Design and facilitate workshops, trainings, and outreach related to student conduct, ethics, and decision-making Policy Development & Compliance
  • Review and update the Student Code of Conduct and related policies annually
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., Title IX, Clery Act, FERPA)
  • Provide guidance to leadership on conduct trends, risks, and policy implications Training & Campus Engagement
  • Train faculty, staff, and student leaders on conduct policies and reporting processes
  • Serve as a resource for students navigating the conduct process
  • Promote a campus culture rooted in respect, accountability, and community standards Data, Reporting & Assessment
  • Track conduct trends and provide regular reports to senior leadership
  • Use data to inform prevention strategies and student success initiatives
  • Assess effectiveness of conduct processes and recommend improvements Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May supervise conduct officers, graduate assistants, or administrative support staff
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for team members
