About The Position

As the Director of Solutions Marketing, you will be responsible for defining how Chainguard’s product portfolio solves complex, high-level challenges for our customers. You will lead the charge in building horizontal, use-case-driven narratives that resonate with both technical practitioners and executive decision-makers. You will be a key leader in bridging the gap between technical capabilities and business value, ensuring our go-to-market (GTM) team can move prospects through the funnel with a clear, solution-oriented approach.

Requirements

  • Extensive Experience: 8+ years of product or solutions marketing experience in B2B SaaS, specifically within security, infrastructure, or developer tools.
  • Mentorship & Team Building: A track record of hiring, coaching, and retaining high-performing marketing talent in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Technical Depth: A strong understanding of cloud-native software infrastructure (containers, Kubernetes) and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into persuasive business narratives.
  • Strategic Execution: Proven success in leading go-to-market strategies and product/solution launches in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
  • Collaborative Leadership: A track record of working effectively across product, engineering, and sales teams to drive revenue and market entry.
  • Exceptional Communication: Masterful written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical content to practitioner audiences and business value to executives.
  • Problem Solver: Comfortable with ambiguity and able to maintain a balance between strategic vision and hands-on execution.
  • Executive Presence: Proven ability to present to and influence C-suite executives, Board members, and industry luminaries with a balance of technical credibility and business acumen.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and regulations (e.g., Executive Order 14028, SLSA, or SBOM mandates) that drive solution adoption in the security space.
  • Budget & Agency Management: Experience managing marketing budgets and external creative or technical agencies to produce high-quality solution assets at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Solution Messaging: Create and refine high-level positioning and messaging that articulates Chainguard’s value across various use cases (e.g., software supply chain security, regulatory compliance, and cloud-native infrastructure).
  • Lead Solution Launches: Oversee the launch of cross-product solutions and major platform initiatives, ensuring a unified and successful rollout across all GTM teams.
  • Segment and Vertical Marketing: Collaborate with field and marketing teams in developing messaging, content and campaigns tailored to specific segments or verticals.
  • Sales Enablement & Content: Build a repeatable engine for solution-based enablement, providing the field with the tools, training, and playbooks needed to generate pipeline and win deals for various jobs-to-be-done.
  • Campaign Collaboration: Partner with Demand Generation and DevRel to build technical narratives and high-impact assets, such as solution briefs, white papers, and webinars, that drive pipeline growth.
  • Team Leadership: Build and manage a team of high-performing PMMs focused on specific verticals or segments.
  • Analyst Relations & Market Strategy: Serve as a point of contact for industry analysts (e.g., Gartner, Forrester) to influence category creation and ensure Chainguard is positioned as a leader in the Software Supply Chain Security market.
  • Customer Advisory & Advocacy: Lead content and agenda for Customer Advisory Boards (CABs) to gather high-level strategic feedback on the solution roadmap and cultivate executive-level champions for case studies and testimonials.
  • Pipeline Accountability: Partner with Marketing Ops and Demand Gen to track top of funnel KPIs, including lead-to-opportunity conversion rates and total addressable market (TAM) expansion.
  • Broad Partner Solutions: Collaborate with the "Partner and Platform" team to build "better together" narratives with major cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and CI/CD platform partners.

Benefits

  • Flexible & Remote-First Culture: Work remotely with team meetup opportunities, bi-annual destination summits, and a monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone and internet costs.
  • Our Approach to Equity: Receive stock options upon hire and promotion. Plus, you can participate in secondary offerings and have 10 years to exercise your options (yes, you read that correctly: 10 years!).
  • 100% Covered Health Insurance: We cover 100% of your health, vision and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents. Nothing comes out of your paycheck.
  • ∞ Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need – to do our best work, we need to recharge and reset.
  • 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave: We offer 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout your child's first year.
