Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
  • Certified Law Enforcement preferred.
  • Certified Advanced Safety Professional preferred.
  • Safety Professional specializing in Healthcare credentialed from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital security experience preferred
  • Administrative experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures which guide and support the provision of services and meet productivity plans.
  • Recommend department's requirements for space, equipment, and financial needs.
  • Participate in the selection of sources for needed services.
  • Prepare budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding.
  • Oversee activities related to staffing including hiring, orienting, evaluating, coaching, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness; develop and implement changes required for process improvement.
