This is not a job. This is a chance to build a business inside a business. We are launching a new business inside Contrarian Thinking: an SBA loan brokerage designed specifically for acquisition entrepreneurs. We already have what most lending businesses spend years trying to build, a large, qualified pipeline of buyers actively working on deals. These are not cold leads. These are individuals deep in the acquisition process who need capital to close. What we do not yet have is the operator who can turn that demand into a system. This role is for the person who wants to build that system. You will not be stepping into an established function. You will be creating it. designing how deals get structured, how lenders are engaged, and how transactions move from initial conversation to funded outcome. What Makes This Different Most lending roles are optimized for volume, not ownership. They rely on cold outreach, fragmented pipelines, and compensation structures that cap upside. This role is fundamentally different. You will work with a warm, high-intent pipeline generated by an existing ecosystem. You will have direct access to leadership and visibility into real deals. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to build something. The expectation is not that you “fit into” a system. The expectation is that you help create one. What You’ll Do At its core, your responsibility is simple: Get deals funded. In practice, that means running intake and qualification with borrowers, structuring SBA 7(a) and 504 loans, and managing lender relationships across a growing network. You will own the process end-to-end, from initial conversation through underwriting, documentation, and closing. But execution alone is not enough. As a founding member of this business, you will also document what works, build repeatable workflows, and build the team to scale. Your approach becomes the blueprint. Who This Is For You may currently be a loan officer, processor, or broker who understands the full lifecycle of a deal but lacks the opportunity to fully own outcomes. You may be in mortgage and looking for a more durable market. Or you may already be in SBA lending and recognize that your upside is constrained by your current environment. More important than your exact background is how you think. You should be comfortable operating without a fully built playbook. You should prefer building over maintaining. You should want your compensation and your results to be directly connected. And you should have the instinct to move things forward without waiting for permission. What Success Looks Like In the first few months, success looks like momentum, getting deals across the line, earning trust with borrowers and lenders, and proving you can close. But that’s just the entry point. Within the first year, you’re not just funding deals, you’re building throughput. Consistency. Reputation. The beginnings of a machine that can scale beyond you. And then the game changes. This isn’t meant to be a small brokerage. The opportunity here is to build one of the most dominant SBA loan brokerage platforms in the country, powered by a proprietary pipeline most firms will never have access to. The demand already exists, we are wiring the infrastructure behind it. From there, this expands. What starts as brokering becomes control of the capital layer in small business acquisition. Why This Role Matters We believe that small business ownership is one of the most reliable paths to wealth creation. But for most buyers, access to capital is the bottleneck. They find deals. They do the work. And then they get stuck. This role exists to solve that problem. You are not just facilitating loans. You are enabling ownership. And as this platform grows, the impact compounds across hundreds, then thousands, of transactions. What This Is Not This is not a role for someone optimizing for stability or predictability. If you need a clear, predefined path on day one, this will feel uncomfortable. If you want to build something meaningful with real upside, it will feel like the right kind of pressure.
