About The Position

The Director of Sales is a dynamic, results-oriented sales professional responsible for driving all revenue-generating activities for the property. This role requires a focus on direct selling, effective prospecting, relationship building, internet marketing strategies, and community engagement. The Director of Sales will collaborate with the management team to achieve revenue goals, enhance guest satisfaction, and strengthen market positioning. The Director of Sales role is best suited for someone who: Is experienced in direct selling, leveraging strong sales techniques to maximize revenue. Has a proactive approach to developing relationships, making outside sales calls, and driving business growth. Is comfortable working in a competitive market, using quantitative data to increase market share. Is a proven leader who motivates and develops sales teams, creating a high-performance culture. Thrives in a fast-paced environment, focusing on both strategic vision and hands-on execution.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to perform outside sales calls.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Hotel Director of Sales.
  • Familiarity with hotel management systems (PMS), with extensive knowledge of Hilton PMS preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Strong management, leadership, and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience managing a small sales team as a Director of Sales.
  • Proven record of increasing market share in competitive markets, leveraging data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hotel sales efforts by developing and implementing proactive sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with the team to establish a strong pricing and revenue management program, aiming to meet or exceed top-line revenue and RevPAR Index goals.
  • Manage all aspects of the sales and marketing division, ensuring the achievement of budgeted revenue targets.
  • Motivate, evaluate, and coach sales personnel, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic vision for maximizing sales generation and optimal revenue growth.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture, encouraging continuous learning, skill advancement, and results-driven outcomes.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the competitive landscape, using market data to innovate and enhance sales strategies.
  • Cultivate and leverage external and internal relationships to increase market awareness and drive business growth.
  • Provide sales training and development for front desk personnel, ensuring consistent execution of guest inquiries and needs.
  • Manage the departmental budget, monitoring sales activities to ensure revenue targets are met; report variances and projections accurately.
  • Represent the hotel professionally, maintaining a polished appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the hotel’s sales objectives.
