MediaCo Operations LLC is a leading multimedia company that operates television, radio, digital, and streaming platforms across multiple markets in the United States. Through Estrella Media and its network properties, including Estrella TV, Estrella News, and Estrella Games, the company provides news and entertainment programming to audiences across the United States through broadcast stations, streaming channels, and on-demand platforms. The company produces thousands of hours of original programming annually through its studio operations and maintains an extensive library of entertainment content. In addition to television production, MediaCo operates radio stations in leading Hispanic markets and produces Spanish-language audio programming, live events, concerts, and large-scale entertainment experiences. The Director of Sales will lead and develop the sales team, maximizing broadcast and digital revenue through effective inventory management and strong customer service relations. This role is responsible for the overall efforts and driving revenue growth. The Director of Sales oversees revenue generation, client development, and the performance of the sales team while ensuring alignment with company goals and market opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in media sales management, with demonstrated success in leading a large team of sales professionals preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and motivational skills.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of TV ratings and research.
  • Strong and effective sales skills. Persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess adaptable and effective negotiating skills in an ever changing, fluid environment. Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, competitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Big picture vision and thinking.
  • Proficiency with WideOrbit, ComScore, Matrix, or similar CRM as well as Excel, Word and other various business and broadcast software programs.
  • Must be willing to work in San Francisco, CA

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and insurance.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong, positive leadership for the sales team with a clear understanding of all audience platforms within our portfolio.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets for Local, National, Digital and non-traditional products.
  • Drive efforts of the sales team on new business development.
  • Manage inventory, pricing, and sales department revenue and expense budgeting, competently utilizing forecasting tools and CRM software that provide clear forecasting reports updated weekly.
  • Initiate smart, long-term decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion, and retention of sales team professionals.
  • Work closely with Sales Managers and VP/GM to develop creative, productive incentives for increasing sales performance.
  • Plan and direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and perfect sales team operation.
  • Develop strong business relationships with local companies and organizations through regular meetings and community involvement.
  • Resolve customer concerns regarding sales and service in a professional manner.
  • Direct the Accounts Receivable efforts of the Sales Department.
  • Effectively collaborate with VP/GM, fellow department heads, sales department team members, and all company/station divisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
