About The Position

Paraco is a third-generation, family-owned energy company operating across the Northeast. We are entering our next phase of strategic growth — expanding market share, integrating acquisitions, modernizing our go-to-market strategy, and strengthening customer retention across residential and commercial markets. We are seeking a Director of Sales to build, scale, and lead a high-performance sales organization that drives profitable, disciplined growth. This is not a maintenance role. This is a transformation and leadership opportunity. You will architect and execute the sales strategy across multiple states — modernizing compensation structures, strengthening accountability, aligning marketing with revenue operations, and positioning Paraco as the premier propane provider in our markets. This role requires a leader who can seamlessly pivot between strategy and execution. You will operate at the Executive Leadership Team level, shaping company-wide direction and influencing enterprise strategy — while also being highly visible in the field, coaching sales representatives, driving performance standards, and leading from the front. You will not lead from behind a desk. You will be in the field, alongside the sales team, translating strategy into action and ensuring disciplined execution. Requirements

  • 10+ years leading multi-market sales organizations
  • Demonstrated success scaling revenue while protecting margin
  • Experience managing complex pricing and contract structures
  • Track record of building compensation systems that drive results
  • Highly analytical and fluent in sales metrics, forecasting, and CRM systems
  • Strong financial acumen (margin, EBITDA impact, retention metrics)
  • Experience driving change within legacy or regional organizations
  • Builds disciplined, accountable teams
  • Can inspire field sales teams while implementing structure
  • Direct, transparent communicator
  • Comfortable working closely with operations and finance

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a multi-state growth strategy across residential, commercial, and national accounts
  • Increase margin per gallon and customer lifetime value
  • Design disciplined territory plans and market segmentation strategies
  • Modernize sales compensation structures to drive accountability and performance
  • Lead national account negotiations and large-scale bid processes
  • Partner with M&A leadership to integrate acquisitions into a unified revenue strategy
  • Lead and develop inside and outside sales teams across Paraco’s footprint
  • Recruit, coach, and elevate high-performing talent
  • Establish a culture of data-driven selling and accountability
  • Create structured training programs focused on objection handling, margin protection, and retention
  • Build a clear performance scorecard and reporting cadence
  • Align marketing strategy with revenue targets
  • Drive lead generation and brand positioning
  • Strengthen CRM utilization (Salesforce preferred) to improve pipeline visibility and forecasting accuracy
  • Implement a closed-loop system between sales and operations
  • Partner with Operations and Customer Service to improve retention and reduce churn
  • Develop proactive retention strategies and lifecycle marketing programs
  • Strengthen handoff processes from sale to service
  • Serve as a key contributor on the Executive Leadership Team
  • Shape long-term revenue strategy and geographic expansion plans
  • Represent Paraco at industry events and strategic partnerships
