About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on Director of Sales to lead all sales efforts for our 130-room full-service hotel with banquet space and on-site restaurant. This role is responsible for driving top-line revenue through proactive sales initiatives, strategic planning, team leadership, and cross-department collaboration. The ideal candidate is analytical, relationship-driven, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive hotel sales leadership experience (full-service preferred)
  • Proven track record of driving group and corporate revenue
  • Strong financial acumen and forecasting ability
  • Experience with hotel sales systems and reporting tools (Delphi, Opera, Salesforce, etc. preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours as business demands require
  • Strong leadership presence and decision-making ability

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, implement, and manage the hotel’s strategic sales plan, annual goals, forecasts, sales budget, and monthly reporting.
  • Compile and analyze data related to group pace, lead management, STAR reports, booking trends, and revenue forecasts.
  • Direct solicitation efforts through effective communication and oversight of rate, date, and space commitments for group room sales.
  • Conduct ongoing market research to identify trends and develop innovative marketing strategies.
  • Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Implement company and franchise sales programs and initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Assist with accounting functions as needed.
  • Make sound business decisions quickly based on experience and judgment.
  • Understand and contribute to budget forecasting, long-range planning, and profitability strategies.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled.
  • Interview, hire, train, coach, and develop sales staff.
  • Conduct regular training programs to ensure brand and company performance standards are met.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Recommend disciplinary action or termination when appropriate.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and results.
  • Effectively handle internal and external customer concerns with patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Resolve complaints and anticipate potential operational issues to maintain high guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with all hotel departments to ensure seamless communication and guest experience.
  • Maintain composure and leadership presence during high hotel activity or emergency situations.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, security, safety, labor relations, quality assurance, and hospitality law.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and attendance expectations.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
