This structure is designed to ensure clear leadership, accountability, and collaboration across the outside and inside sales functions. While the Zone Director owns the overall sales strategy and performance of the zone, the Inside Sales Manager is there as an additional senior support to the Zone team with particular expertise is “virtual sales” tools, capabilities and programs. They are there to provide guidance and development to the ISRs and AMs, and to support the Zone Director by leading the day-to-day management and development of the Inside Sales / Account Management team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of sales and sales management experience, ideally with at least part of that in the promotional goods/apparel industry
  • Past experience of leading a team, or group, of individuals to achieve a common goal.
  • Thorough knowledge of S&S Activewear value proposition, systems, product offering, competitive landscape, and sales cycle
  • Proven/demonstrated ability to work independently and/or in a team/matrix environment, handle multiple demands and continually changing priorities
  • Demonstrated excellent skills in planning, time management, decision making, presenting, problem solving, conflict resolution and communications
  • Ability to work effectively with other functional areas of the business to exceed customer expectations
  • Demonstrates high level reasoning skills with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a number of variables in situations of limited standardization. Able to interpret instructions presented in a variety of formats

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Own the overall sales strategy, revenue targets, and performance outcomes across all customer segments within the zone.
  • Set high-level goals and direction in alignment with overall company sales objectives.
  • Partner with the Inside Sales Manager to ensure alignment between field and inside sales efforts.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • While the Zone Director leads market strategy and territory planning for the zone and leads the discussion of which accounts fall to Outside vs. Inside Reps, they need to collaborate with the Inside Sales Manager on territory planning, account assignments, and market strategy.
  • Participate in strategic planning for key accounts and initiatives, leveraging insights from both field and inside teams.
  • Performance Oversight:
  • Monitor high-level performance and sales trends across the zone.
  • Engage in performance discussions at the leadership level, supporting any escalated coaching conversations when appropriate (in partnership with the Inside Sales Manager).
  • Field Team Leadership:
  • Directly accountable for all resources in the Zone, including Outside Sales Representatives, Account Managers, and Inside Sales Representatives in the zone.
  • Leads customer strategies for all accounts assigned to OSRs, and as such, leads the alignment of OSRs and AMs related to customer strategy.
  • Coordinate and align on the customer strategies and related activites with the Inside Sales Managers to ensure that both Zone Director and ISM are giving consistent guidance.
