About The Position

The Director of Sales & Product Strategy is responsible for advancing PTUSA’s product-led growth strategy by driving product development, commercialization, and strategic sales initiatives that attract new customers and strengthen existing relationships. The role integrates animal nutrition, formulation strategy, market insight, and customer needs into a focused product roadmap while providing functional leadership across sales, marketing, and business development. Revenue growth is driven by converting differentiated, nutrition-based products into scalable commercial execution, while leading the sales team to meet annual goals and deliver a consistent, high quality customer experience before and after the sale. The role serves as the primary commercial partner to R&D, nutrition, and production, ensuring product decisions support sustainable margins, customer loyalty, and long-term enterprise value.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required
  • 7+ plus years of experience in agribusiness, with demonstrated success in product strategy, outsides sales or business development
  • Strong exposure to animal nutrition, feed ingredients, or formulation-driven products strongly preferred
  • Experience in commercializing differentiated or value-added products in competitive markets preferred
  • Must possess a current, valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • 50% travel required as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain PTUSA’s product strategy and long-term plan, aligned with company growth objectives, production capabilities, and targeted markets.
  • Translate customer needs, market trends, and competitive intelligence into clear product requirements, formulation direction, and commercial value propositions
  • Lead product development initiatives with a strong emphasis on animal nutrition, ingredient functionality, formulation intent, and performance outcomes across relevant species and applications
  • Provide strategic direction and commercial input into formulation decisions to balance nutritional performance, manufacturability, regulatory compliance, and profitability
  • Champion customer trials, field validation, and data-driven product stories to support adoption, differentiation, and premium positioning
  • Partner with R&D, nutrition, and production teams to evaluate, prioritize, and advance new product concepts, formulation improvements, and product extensions from concept through commercialization
  • Continuously evaluate existing products, technologies, and services to ensure alignment with evolving market needs and PTUSA’s strategic positioning
  • Direct and lead the sales organization to achieve annual revenue, margin, and growth objectives
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, pricing frameworks, and go-to-market plans aligned with product intent and value proposition
  • Develop and maintain meaningful customer relationships including the recommendations on the establishment of strategic partnerships/alliances and joint ventures.
  • Direct, lead, and manage a sales team to drive sales growth and new product penetration. Supervise the progress of the regional development team towards achieving agreed upon performance targets and goals. Take corrective action as necessary.
  • Prospect for potential new clients and establish a robust pipeline of new opportunities to meet organizational goals. Identify key decision makers within the client organization. Maintain accurate sales forecast and strategic plans to ensure the sale and profitability of products.
  • Prepare annual goals with a supporting budget to be presented and approved as part of the overall company budget.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, customer segments, partnerships, and strategic initiatives that support product-led growth.
  • Monitor and proactively respond to industry, nutrition, regulatory, and market trends; synthesize insights into actionable product and market strategies
  • Provide guidance to senior leadership on industry development in specific regions, market opportunities and strategic risks Actively engage senior leadership in major business presentations and discussions
  • Direct logistics efforts, customer service, and operations teams to ensure product availability, reliable delivery, and execution consistent with product positioning and customer expectations
  • Supervise outbound scheduling in coordination with production to balance inventory, product priorities, and customer demand
  • Lead and assist in conflict resolution with internal teams, customers, and external partners to protect product integrity and customer trust
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and professional development support to all supervised positions
  • Build product, market, and nutrition acumen within the sales and feed consultant teams
  • Contribute to the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new feed, technical, and commercial staff
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and accountability while reinforcing PTUSA’s values and long-term vision
