What you’ll do as an the Director of Sales & Catering: The Director of Catering & Sales is responsible for developing, leading, and executing bartaco’s catering and events revenue strategy across priority markets - including Florida, Boston, + Charleston.. This role is highly sales-driven, combining inbound lead management, proactive outbound business development, and on-the-ground relationship building with major local businesses, community partners, and event organizations. The position partners closely with Marketing, Operations, and Digital Experience to drive meaningful, scalable revenue growth through catering, events, and restaurant buyouts. This role requires someone hands-on, who thrives in developing + maintaining relationships, traveling to restaurants when the events they have booked are going to be a huge success, hosting events in the target markets, and supporting teams in-market to close high-value business.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in catering sales, hospitality sales, or related fields
  • 3+ years in a leadership role with multi-unit or multi-market responsibility (preferred)
  • Strong track record of exceeding sales targets and driving year-over-year revenue growth
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with high attention to detail
  • Experience with CRM and catering/event management software
  • Passion for hospitality, food, and creating memorable guest experiences

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth
  • Own and execute a comprehensive catering and events sales strategy focused on high-growth markets including South Florida (Coconut Grove, Aventura), Jacksonville, Charleston (King Street with second-floor bar), and Seaport (Boston)
  • Develop proactive outbound sales initiatives to penetrate large local businesses, hospitals, corporate offices, chambers of commerce, and major event organizations
  • Manage inbound catering and event requests across all channels, including website inquiries and third-party platforms
  • Establish set menus and food & beverage minimums for catering and events (no custom menu development) to ensure operational efficiency and profitability
  • Analyze performance metrics, booking trends, and conversion rates to optimize sales strategy and revenue growth
  • Lead Generation & Business Development
  • Evaluate and manage lead-generation tools and platforms, including collaborating with our Marketing Department on email blasts and data driven CRM-based prospecting and targeting solutions.
  • Leverage third-party platforms such as EzCater as a scalable revenue driver while also building an outside sales pipeline to reach larger corporate accounts not captured through marketplaces.
  • Actively attend and participate in local chamber events, networking groups, local MPI organizations and major community activations
  • Plan and host multiple in-restaurant events and launch parties in partnership with Marketing Department to generate demand and deepen local market connections
  • Lead outbound prospecting efforts, including direct outreach to local businesses and organizations.
  • Sales Execution & Client Management
  • Personally manage and close high-value catering, event, and buyout opportunities
  • Structure and sell restaurant buyouts, including traveling to markets to support execution and on-site teams when needed
  • Build long-term relationships that generate repeat business and year-over-year growth
  • Represent bartaco as a brand ambassador in-market and at key industry events
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Marketing on launch events, brand activations, and promotional campaigns and general LSM Campaigns
  • Work in collaboration with the Digital Experience Director, while owning all local outbound and relationship-based sales efforts.
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure seamless event execution and a flawless guest experience
  • Administrative & Financial Management
  • Track sales performance, event profitability and account maintenance
  • Manage vendor contracts, agreements, and key external partnerships
  • Evaluate systems and technology upgrades to streamline sales and event management.
