About The Position

The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for driving hotel revenue and market share through strategic sales leadership and proven performance. This role leads all sales efforts across group, corporate, government, and transient segments, partnering closely with the General Manager and Revenue Management to exceed financial goals. The ideal candidate has a strong, documented history of revenue growth, thrives in a competitive urban market, and leads teams with clarity, accountability, and urgency. Key Responsibilities: Lead and execute a comprehensive sales strategy across corporate and group segments, including banquets and catering. Set expectations for accountability, professionalism, and results. Mentor sales and other department team members to provide the best experience in market. Collaborate with hotel leadership, revenue management, and eCommerce to maximize occupancy, ADR, and total revenue Own the sales process from prospecting through contracting and execution Represent the hotel at community events, networking functions, and industry meetings Track sales activity, pipeline, and results using brand and internal reporting tools Cultivate strong relationships with existing and potential clients to generate new business opportunities. Monitor market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly to maintain competitiveness. Work cross-functionally with the General Manager, Marketing and Revenue teams to drive sales strategies for the hotel and its assets, including Banquet Sales and Catering through Food & Beverage outlets. Prepare and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and reports, analyzing performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years hotel sales experience including rooms and banquet/catering sales in a similar sized operation preferred.
  • CI/TY and Marriott brand experience preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive to customer appointments.
  • Ability to lead and develop the sales and F&B teams.
  • Documented success in driving sustained room revenue growth, increasing account productions, improving mix, and gaining market share against a defined competitive set.
  • Data-driven with the ability to translate insights into result-driven sales strategies.
  • Ability to confidently and professionally communicate performance results, forecasts, strategies, and risks to leadership and partners.

Nice To Haves

  • CI/TY and Marriott brand experience preferred.
