About The Position

Overview AFP Hotel Management is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Sales in Oneida County to lead our sales initiatives and drive revenue growth across diverse markets. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the sales vision, develop high-performing teams, and foster strong relationships with clients and partners.

Requirements

Proven experience in the hotel industry with outside sales and achieving sales goals.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related field highly preferred.
Must have a minimum of five years of direct sales experience.
Successfully leading / supervising teams within a hotel / hospitality business is preferred.
Successful candidates also have a strong understanding of dynamic pricing, hotel revenue yield management.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle negotiations, objections, rate resistance.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule; including weekends and holidays and travel for trade shows, conventions and other client networking meetings.
Knowledge and experience using various office software programs: Microsoft Office, Salesforce or similar.
Understanding of creating and reading banquet event orders, group contracts, and creating customer invoices.
Leadership qualities that inspire teams, foster collaboration, and promote a customer-centric approach.
Outstanding customer service orientation combined with effective account management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with company goals to maximize revenue and market share.
Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to identify new business opportunities.
Oversee business development efforts, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing high-value deals in B2B environments.
Collaborate with marketing teams to create targeted campaigns that support sales objectives and brand positioning.
Utilize CRM tools such as Salesforce to track sales activities, analyze pipeline performance, and forecast future growth accurately.
Conduct analysis of market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
Provide leadership in negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with company policies and objectives.
Oversee account management processes to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and expansion of existing accounts.
Drive innovation in technical sales by staying informed about emerging technologies relevant to our offerings.
