Our next superstar will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales and marketing activities and the team itself. Responsible for developing and implementing a thoughtful & effective sales strategy and working with the marketing team to ensure the hotel’s unique brand pillars are front and center and critical resort goals are crushed!

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Proven success as Director of Sales at a lifestyle/upper-upscale urban hotel or resort with significant group & meetings contribution.
  • Ability to perform critical analysis and manage wide range of information.
  • Extensive knowledge of negotiating and sales tactics.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of developing and executing sales objectives and strategies required.
  • Proven ability to recruit, motivate, train, and retain management and sales team.
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of various software programs, including a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, sales operating systems, social media, and business intelligence applications.

Responsibilities

  • Build a performance culture where people thrive; set clear goals, coach hard, recognize wins.
  • Own a direct sales plan that captures high-value group, meetings, weddings, and corporate travel; shift share from the comp set.
  • Activate local demand generators (Madison Square and nearby corridors) and grow citywide/regional business through CVB, Cvent, and key intermediaries.
  • Partner with revenue management on pricing, mix, and displacement; lead weekly commercial reviews.
  • Translate market intelligence into action: segment tactics, account-based plans, and quarterly campaigns.
  • Measure what matters: RGI, MPI/Fair-Share, Group Pace, Cvent lead-to-win, BT negotiated production, ROAS on paid efforts.
  • Maintain Hilton-adjacent and third-party channel hygiene equivalents (images, copy, amenities, metasearch via partners) and optimize GDS/consortia positioning.
  • Champion on-property experience touchpoints that convert: site tours, rooftop showcases, art/culinary tie-ins.
  • Represent the hotel in the community; build partnerships that drive events and room nights.
