About The Position

The Director of Risk and Safety (EHS / Safety & Compliance) provides safety leadership and regulatory oversight across Country Meadows’ 10 communities throughout central and eastern Pennsylvania and one community in Maryland, helping ensure safe, compliant, and well-prepared environments for residents and coworkers. In partnership with operations leadership and community teams, this role coordinates safety programs, emergency preparedness initiatives, OSHA compliance, and regulatory oversight that support high-quality senior living operations and strengthen safety practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Management, Occupational Health, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in safety management, risk management, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to travel regularly to company communities and Home Office.
  • Ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies, consultants, and external partners.
  • Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), workplace safety program development, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and related workplace safety regulations.
  • Safety audits, inspections, incident investigation, and injury trend analysis.
  • Emergency preparedness planning and fire safety programs.
  • Ability to influence leaders and support safety initiatives across multiple locations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate monthly fire drills, annual fire inspections, emergency preparedness drills, and elopement drills across all communities; document results and ensure follow-up compliance.
  • Maintain and oversee the company Emergency Preparedness Manual and prepare required Department of Human Services filings.
  • Provide annual fire extinguisher training and deliver Department of Human Services “train-the-trainer” instruction for coworkers responsible for new hire and annual fire safety training.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company safety programs, policies, and annual safety objectives supporting operations across all communities.
  • Provide technical safety leadership and guidance to community leadership and Home Office teams.
  • Maintain the Illness and Injury Prevention Program and lead safety initiatives addressing ergonomics, resident fall prevention, lockout procedures, SDS compliance, and other workplace hazards.
  • Identify safety training needs and coordinate safety education programs across communities.
  • Support appropriate selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Monitor safety metrics, analyze injury trends, and prepare safety and incident reports to guide prevention efforts.
  • Serve as a member of the Risk Management Steering Team and collaborate with community safety committees to strengthen safety accountability and culture.
  • Monitor OSHA, NFPA, and other federal, state, and local safety regulations and communicate updates to communities and Home Office teams.
  • Conduct safety audits and mock OSHA inspections to ensure compliance with company safety programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor OSHA 300 and 300A logs and train campus office managers on OSHA incident reporting procedures.
  • Monitor lost-time injuries, illnesses, and workers’ compensation claims and support prevention efforts.
  • Maintain the Hazard Communications Program and required OSHA safety documentation.
  • Prepare OSHA and Department of Labor reporting and review safety inspections, committee reports, and incident investigations to ensure appropriate follow-up and corrective action.
