About The Position

Hotel Management & Consulting is seeking a Director of Revenue Management that will oversee all revenue management activities and managers for midscale and dynamic markets. The Director of Revenue Management will drive total hotel profitability by leading pricing strategies, managing extended stay and nightly inventories, and conducting thorough analyses of revenue maximization efforts. This position will primarily work with the Marriott, IHG, and MyPlace brands as well as economy extended stay brands (WoodSpring Suites and ECHO Suites) in dynamic, seasonal markets. Requirements

  • Experience managing revenue for multiple hotels or a defined portfolio
  • Must have Marriott revenue management experience
  • Strong understanding of extended-stay revenue dynamics within budget to midscale hotel environments
  • Knowledge of hospitality sales, marketing and other revenue management functions to include research, planning, market positioning, market segments, internal marketing, distribution channels, sales management, reservations and yield management
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with PMS, CRS, GDS, OTA platforms, revenue management systems, and competitor rate shopping tools
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue management team to achieve departmental and organizational goals
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Review hotel performance metrics including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, reservations, guest mix, and market trends to develop and adjust revenue strategies for an assigned portfolio of extended-stay hotels
  • Develop and execute long-term and short-term rate strategies for nightly, weekly, and 28-day segments
  • Communicate regularly with General Managers, District Managers and Sales & Marketing team regarding rate strategy, performance, and recommended changes
  • Review nightly and extended-stay rates and provide timely, data-driven rate adjustments to capture appropriate transient and extended-stay demand
  • Manage and maintain rate and inventory controls across all distribution channels, including MLOS, sell limits, blackout dates, and inventory allocation
  • Manage all aspects of rate and inventory management by ensuring rates and availability are opened and closed in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Monitor and analyze competitor pricing, product positioning, demand generators, and market dynamics using STR reports and rate shopping tools
  • Conduct ongoing competitor price and product analyses to ensure proper rate positioning across all market segments
  • Review weekly and monthly STR reports and provide performance analysis and recommendations
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to support promotional campaigns and ensure pricing strategies align with revenue objectives
  • Analyze revenue channel contributions and recommend strategies to improve channel mix and overall profitability
  • Produce accurate, timely portfolio-level reporting and complete ad-hoc analyses to identify revenue risks and opportunities
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across revenue systems and reporting tools
  • Lead or participate in scheduled regional or portfolio revenue calls
  • Identify underperforming hotels and recommend corrective actions or additional revenue focus
  • Support senior leadership with revenue insights, trend analysis, and performance commentary
  • Assist with the implementation of revenue tools, reporting enhancements, and process improvements
  • Participate in property visits for market research, training, and implementation of revenue strategies as needed
  • Manage and lead a team of direct reports, ensuring all pricing strategies and inventory controls are consistently and accurately executed
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
