About The Position

In this role, you will lead the revenue accounting team as a strategic change agent, leveraging deep ASC 606 and US GAAP expertise to modernize processes and systems. You will bridge the gap between financial compliance and go-to-market execution by partnering closely with Revenue Operations and Deal Desk to advise on contract structures and deal language. Beyond managing the monthly close and internal controls, you will act as a technical mentor, optimizing the NetSuite/Salesforce ecosystem and delivering high-level analytics to ensure revenue reporting is both accurate and scalable.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience within accounting and/or finance
  • CPA required
  • Currently in a similar position in a fast growing company, with prior experience in both private and public companies
  • Thorough understanding of ASC 606.
  • Prior experience in scaling a revenue team and system transformation.
  • Salesforce and NetSuite ARM experience including system implementation, upgrades and improvements. Demonstrated deep understanding of the system and design - beyond processing - in a non-integrated environment.
  • Should be detail oriented and willing to roll up your sleeves. Ability to step-in and “get it done” at the any level when required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to tailor messages to suit the audience (senior management vs your team).
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and motivate your team.
  • Passion for cross functional partnership and buy-in as a path to success for timely knowledge share, system updates and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with key folks in the company.
  • Gain an understanding of the revenue recognition policies for each product family.
  • Gain an understanding of the flow of information from Salesforce to NetSuite for customer contracts and the month end close.
  • Shadow & observe the current close process for revenue. Review existing documentation and take over the process guide maintenance.
  • Plan a revenue calendar that includes the close-critical operations as well as regular cadence meetings with cross functional partners to stay in the know.
  • Perform reconciliation of Salesforce and NetSuite data to identify any contracts or amendments not processed YTD; establish plan to address these prior to December 31, 2025.
  • Perform key elements of the close process alongside staff to gain a deeper understanding of each of the NetSuite processes.
  • Deliver flux explanations for revenue as part of the monthly close process.
  • Identify key contracts for additional review from 2025 and document any custom terms and conclusions within the population.
  • Review concession approach and determine reserve estimate prior to December 31, 2025
  • Review key account reconciliations in detail for any adjustments and identify that need to be addressed for year end
  • Fully own the data intake process for sales orders and revenue impacting transactions from Salesforce.
  • Ground level knowledge is expected with respect to imports, templates and processing. Stand ready to support staff in the details as needed.
  • Confirm the 2025 data is ready for the year end audit. Propose remediation for any gaps.
  • Develop minimum SKU Release procedures align the business around key questions and considerations prior to launching new products to ensure smooth billing and rev rec capture
  • Enhance the close checklist for revenue and related areas.
  • Get fully ingrained in the overall financial close process and participate actively in close meetings with the rest of the accounting team.
  • Develop and execute a process for review of significant contracts over threshold as well as those with non-standard terms. Partner cross functionally to establish system flagging of non-standard contracts for future isolation.
  • Have a process developed for the review of selected customer contracts on a regular basis as part of the routine workflow.
  • Provide insight on new go-to-market initiatives and draft agreements.
  • Understanding of the revenue forecasting model and active participation in the revenue forecasting process with finance.
