The Director of Retail Banking is responsible for overseeing Stanford Federal Credit Union's Retail Branches, and the branch member experience. Provides leadership, motivation, and direction to Branch Management and staff through coaching and mentoring employees to strive for excellence. Responsible for ensuring consistent, flawless execution of standardized operating procedures and member service delivery standards throughout the branch network. Actively participates in activities that assist the branches in meeting sales goals and increasing profitability. This position is also responsible for monitoring trends and changes in the branch landscape, both within and outside the financial services industry, and partnering with the Vice President of Retail Banking to develop and executing a strategic vision for the branch network that aligns to the credit union's strategic plan.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years’ experience in a financial services leadership position.
  • A bachelor's degree, achievement of formal certifications or combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong Financial Services Operations, Compliance and Regulatory experience.
  • Must have proven leadership experience with the ability to accomplish complex goals based on knowledge, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Organized, and results oriented with extreme attention to detail
  • Focused on building and maintaining a best-in-class member-centric branch experience and team

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coaches Branch Management ensuring excellent member service, sales results, and efficient operations. Gives timely, specific, and appropriate feedback about performance and development needs. Encourages others to experiment with new ways to solve work problems.
  • Identify, coordinate, and implement retail training initiatives as deemed necessary and/or directed by the VP, organizational initiatives, and/or other applicable leaders throughout the organization, with an emphasis on operational soundness, product knowledge and member service. Collaborate with the Learning and Development Department to develop and implement these educational opportunities
  • Accountable for branch sales, service, and operational performance. Monitors sales production, service, and operational goals
  • Recommend, develop, and lead the implementation of current and new operational policies/procedures/programs/systems that support the credit union's goals of consistent delivery, operational efficiency, excellence, and effectiveness, while building accountability.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization to develop retail delivery sales, service, and operational strategies for the credit union, which align with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Maintain a low risk tolerance on all branch audits and ensure operational consistency between branch locations
  • Reviews and analyzes member survey information and provides feedback, guidance, and training to ensure that service standards and service level agreements are met on a consistent basis.
