About The Position

The Director of Remarketing is responsible for the strategic management and resale of pre-owned and company-owned assets across Model 1 Commercial Vehicles. This role focuses on maximizing asset value, minimizing holding costs, and developing efficient exit strategies for rental, lease, trade-in, and company-owned inventory. The Remarketing Manager will work cross-functionally with sales, inventory management, auctions, and external vendors to optimize resale outcomes through multiple channels.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in remarketing, asset management, used vehicle sales, auctions, fleet management, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle valuation, depreciation, and secondary market dynamics.
  • Experience working with auctions, wholesale buyers, online marketplaces, and third-party vendors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret KPIs and market data to drive decisions.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-channel remarketing strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, inventory management tools, and MS Office suite.
  • Experience using data and reporting tools to track performance and trends.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory of pre-owned, trade-in, off-lease, rental, and company-owned vehicles and equipment.
  • Develop and execute asset disposition plans to maximize recovery value and reduce aging inventory.
  • Partner closely with the Vehicle Inventory Manager to align inventory flow, timing, and market readiness.
  • Establish and maintain accurate valuation, status, and condition reporting for all remarketing assets.
  • Create and implement remarketing strategies utilizing internal sales teams, wholesale channels, auctions, online marketplaces, and direct-to-buyer opportunities.
  • Develop structured exit strategies for company-owned rental units, including timing, channel selection, and pricing strategy.
  • Establish standardized trade values and resale benchmarks for equipment and vehicles across the organization.
  • Continuously evaluate channel performance and adjust strategies to improve returns.
  • Track and analyze KPIs including days-to-sale, recovery rates, auction performance, channel effectiveness, and market trends.
  • Prepare regular performance reports and insights for senior leadership.
  • Monitor market conditions to inform pricing strategies, timing decisions, and channel selection.
  • Use data to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas within remarketing operations.
  • Identify inefficiencies within remarketing, asset disposition, and resale processes.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve asset recovery.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to improve vehicle readiness, reconditioning timelines, and resale execution.
  • Support the development of standardized policies, procedures, and best practices for remarketing activities.
