About The Position

Plans, organizes and directs CMHS (CMH & OVCH) Rehabilitation Services: Physical and Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Pathology; and the Wellness & Fitness Center (WFC). This included long term planning and supervision. This can include, but is not limited to establishment of budgets, prepares and maintains departmental records, long term planning, staffing levels, and directs Performance Improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Masters Degree in Speech Language-Pathology
  • Current California Physical Therapy license, Occupational Therapy License or Speech Language-Pathology License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Ten (10) years of Acute care clinical experience in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language-Pathology
  • Eight (8) years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and evaluates activities to ensure balanced and adequate program, and to formulate progressive program designed to meet changing needs of community and the Health System.
  • Promotes and develops strategic relationships with physicians, facilitates good working relationships between physicians and staff.
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and accrediting and licensing agency standards and regulations.
  • Design, facilitates and/or implements performance improvement projects to improve patient care process and systems at CMH and OVCH.
  • Directs collection, analysis, and interpretation of statistics significant to program planning and budget preparation.
  • Prepares and submits budget estimates for Rehab therapies & WFC activities.
  • Participates in established programs for guidance and professional development of licensed and unlicensed staff, and in establishing personnel policies, qualifications, and salaries.
  • Recruits, selects, and assigns personnel.
  • Responds to customer (patient and physician) concerns in a responsive, timely, and respectful manner.
  • Medication Management: Responsible to maintain departmental participation in hospital-wide Medication Management per policy. Responsible to maintain participation in departmental policies of Topical Medications and their use in physical therapy treatments.
  • Responsible to insure scheduling of education and in-service programs.
  • Maintains departmental safety procedures and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
