Requirements

  • Current, valid Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Physical Therapy (PT) license required
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, documentation standards, and reimbursement practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills
  • Commitment to high-quality resident care and continuous improvement
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist/Physical Therapist/Speech Language Pathologist professionally educated in an accredited curriculum with a baccalaureate degree required.
  • State specific license to practice required.
  • Current, valid CPR/BLS certification.
  • Possession of ability to teach, inspire and motivate others; leadership qualities; ability to organize workload, delegate assignments and promote teamwork required.
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in the geriatric field of Occupational/Physical Therapy or Speech Language Pathology preferable.
  • Experience with computer hardware and software including Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise rehab department staff in therapy service delivery, documentation, and billing compliance
  • Ensure services align with all Federal and State regulations and professional Practice Acts
  • Assist in the hiring, orientation, mentoring, and training of staff therapists, therapy assistants, and rehabilitation aides
  • Participate in required meetings, in-services, programs, and general orientation activities
  • Maintain a clinical caseload with a minimum of 35% productivity
  • Monitor clinical, fiscal, and customer service outcomes and implement action plans to address underperformance
  • Promote a collaborative, positive, and resident-focused therapy environment
  • Screen and provide (as necessary and as ordered by a physician) an in-depth evaluation of each individual's rehabilitation potential (unless contradicted); makes written recommendations for inter-disciplinary care planning and treatment.
  • Inform individual or qualified representative about care and treatment plan and possible outcomes of treatment, or lack of treatment if resident refuses participation in a therapy program.
  • Develop a treatment plan and administer treatments in accordance with the physician's orders and the rehabilitation goals; maintain required contact with physician.
  • Oversee written evaluations, progress notes, care plans and discharge summaries of individuals receiving physical therapy according to state, federal and facility policies.
  • Review each individual's status at least quarterly to determine need for revising rehabilitation aspects of care plan.
  • Collaborate with other members of the inter-disciplinary health care team to integrate rehabilitation goals into the comprehensive care plan.
