About The Position

At Hillcrest Shadow Lake, we believe life should be full of purpose, connection, and joy at every age. We’re looking for a Recreation Director who is passionate about creating meaningful experiences and building engaging programs that enhance the lives of our residents. What You’ll Do Plan, coordinate, and lead a comprehensive recreation and life enrichment program for residents Develop activities that support physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual well-being Create monthly activity calendars and special events tailored to resident interests Encourage resident participation and foster a sense of community and belonging Coordinate outings, celebrations, and intergenerational or community-based activities Supervise, train, and support recreation team members and volunteers Collaborate with nursing, dining, and leadership teams to ensure holistic resident care Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and company standards What We’re Looking For Experience in recreation, activities, life enrichment, or a related field (senior living experience preferred) Strong creativity, organization, and communication skills Ability to lead groups and connect with residents at all levels of ability CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Certification such as ADC, ACC, or CTRS is a plus (or willingness to pursue) A heart for service and a genuine passion for enhancing the resident experience Why Hillcrest? Requirements

  • Experience in recreation, activities, life enrichment, or a related field (senior living experience preferred)
  • Strong creativity, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead groups and connect with residents at all levels of ability
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • A heart for service and a genuine passion for enhancing the resident experience

Nice To Haves

  • Certification such as ADC, ACC, or CTRS is a plus (or willingness to pursue)
