About The Position

Labconco is seeking a hands-on Director of Quality to lead and strengthen our quality organization across Labconco's manufacturing locations and its subsidiary companies.   • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervises associates in the Quality Assurance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities

  • Set, maintain and optimize a quality system appropriate for a premium, global brand
  • Lead analysis and remedy of product field failure issues to minimize customer issues and hit warranty cost benchmarks
  • Meet / collaborate with vendors as needed for plant, product and quality system reviews to ensure top tier supplier quality levels
  • Develop and utilize organizational data tools to drive corrective actions and decision making, report regularly to key stakeholders on orgnaizational performance as it relates to quality KPIs
  • Responsible for ongoing organizational and facility compliance will all relevant external standards, including ISO regulations.
  • Review product test results, investigate problems and seek solutions.
  • Conduct routine Quality Audits and report the quality performance to Corporate Management
  • Set expectations for conforming and non-conforming materials. Review and investigate any questionable non-conforming materials.
  • Review and investigate Returned Material Authorizations (RMA) and Product Performance Reports (PPR) and recommend corrective action where necessary.
  • Manage inspection personnel, advise Manufacturing personnel, and take appropriate action when necessary for incoming components, materials and other supplies required.
  • Manage team training and ensure staff is properly positioned to support production demands.
  • Maintain awareness of service trends, production line problems and returned material issues and work with appropriate stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.
  • Responsible for all production tools and equipment, calibration, and the program to ensure that we comply with established procedures.
  • Prepare and follow department budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
