About The Position

Direct and oversee the Quality Systems and Quality Lab Departments at the Osceola, AR facility (KFI). Provide a vision for the Quality department that aligns with Kagome's growth and future direction. Drive and support the performance of both facilities to meet directed Kagome Quality KPIs. Develop, maintain and monitor the budget and capital expenditures for the Quality Systems and Quality Lab Departments. Organize and motivate these departments to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. Maintain the quality systems necessary to assure product quality by providing plant understanding and compliance to programs contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Promote an environment for teamwork throughout the plant and support SPC programs that generate improved plant operations and cost savings. Support the CI&I and Sales Departments by visiting customers/suppliers and providing technical support when requested. Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • Minimum of BS/BA in Science, Food Science, or related field.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to convey technical applications to non-technical personnel.
  • Exercise good judgment in problem solving situations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be able to develop and apply analytical methods and procedures utilizing computerized equipment.
  • Requires great attention to detail.
  • Able to use word processors and perform statistical analysis of databases information.
  • Reliable and punctual with reports and presentations.
  • Possess good safety habits.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on occasion and be willing to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and maintaining of the following programs: Food Safety and Quality Management System Methods and Procedures Quality Systems Department Quality Lab Department Supplier Approval Program Product Recall Pest Control Controlled Documents/Electronic records Systems Audit Program.
  • Oversees and/or supports the following plant operations: Problem solving of daily quality issues Customer complaints Hold and Release Food Allergen & Sensitivities Continuous improvement Quality KPIs
  • Supports the review of the following programs/procedures: Manufacturing Standard Procedures Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points HACCP Prerequisite Programs Customer quality and safety audits Statistical Process Control
  • Responsible for hiring, development, evaluation and termination of Qualilty personnel.
  • Other functions as assigned by the Senior Director of Quality Systems
