About The Position

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Public Relations is responsible for the strategic development, coordination, and implementation of marketing, communications, oversight of TCCN and MHF and related programs and community-based program initiatives for Mayers Memorial Hospital District (MMHD). This position oversees public relations and marketing, grant program, while also providing leadership and operational oversight for the Tri-County Community Network (TCCN) and the Mayers Healthcare Foundation (MHF). The Director ensures alignment with MMHD’s mission, strategic plan, and community health priorities. The Director serves as a liaison between MMHD, the community, staff, external partners, and contracted vendors, ensuring consistent, accurate, and impactful messaging across all platforms. This position combines strategic leadership, program development, fiscal oversight, and communication expertise to enhance community engagement, promote services, and support organizational sustainability. This job description is intended to identify some of the primary duties and responsibilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Minimum of four (4) years of teaching experience in a licensed child-care center or comparable group child-care program
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities, projects, and deadlines
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office technology

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements comprehensive marketing and communication strategies
  • Ensures all messaging aligns with MMHD’s strategic plan and brand standards
  • Oversight of the Public Relations/Marketing staff/department
  • Oversees creation of marketing materials including brochures, print advertising, and campaigns
  • Tracks, evaluates, and reports on marketing effectiveness and engagement
  • Oversees grant program in collaboration with grant writer and community partners
  • Provides leadership and oversight for TCCN and MHF programs and staff
  • Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates program coordinators
  • Develops program goals and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contracts
  • Coordinates non-profit organization Board meetings, reporting, and required documentation
  • Manages facility use, leases, and program scheduling
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures in accordance with licensing requirements
  • Develops and manages program budgets
  • Ensures fiscal accountability and compliance with funding requirements
  • Ensures quality and effectiveness of existing and developing programs
  • Maintains compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements
  • Builds and maintains partnerships with community organizations and funding agencies
  • Seeks opportunities for program growth and expanded services
  • Maintains strong relationships with vendors, partners, and stakeholders
  • Collaborates with PR/Marketing to support outreach and promotional efforts
  • Aligns marketing and community programs with MMHD’s strategic goals
  • Identifies opportunities to expand services and community engagement
  • Provides data-driven recommendations to executive leadership
  • Supports grant development, reporting, and outreach initiatives
  • Represents MMHD in community meetings, partnerships, and public events
