Refuge for Women is a non-profit, faith-based organization providing specialized care for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation. With multiple locations across the U.S., Refuge for Women offers safe housing, at no charge to the resident, with around-the-clock care as clients progress through evidence-based, trauma-informed programming. The compassionate staff is trained to help residents work through the program to reclaim their identities and reach their goals to overcome addictions, heal from trauma and develop life skills leading to healthy, balanced living and financial independence. Position Overview: The Director of Programs provides leadership and oversight for all program operations to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with the organization’s mission. This role focuses on program monitoring, staff development, data integrity, and continuous improvement while supporting Program Directors and addressing resident concerns. Your team contribution: You will strengthen program effectiveness by mentoring Program Directors, monitoring outcomes, ensuring compliance, improving systems, and responding to resident feedback in ways that promote accountability, growth, and excellence in service delivery. You’ll be successful if: Program Directors feel supported and guided through mentorship and collaboration. Program data is accurate, timely, and used for improvement. Resident concerns are addressed professionally and consistently in alignment with Refuge For Women’s standard of care. Training and audits lead to measurable improvements in program quality. Communication across sites is clear, proactive, and solution-focused.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in Anti-Trafficking program
  • Experience in program management or nonprofit leadership
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends
  • Experience with staff supervision and training
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Model organizational values and mission
  • Meet deadlines and reporting requirements
  • Travel to program sites as needed
  • Participate in leadership meetings and organizational initiatives

Responsibilities

  • PROGRAM OVERSIGHT & QUALITY ASSURANCE Conduct site visits to evaluate program operations and adherence to standards
  • Complete Annual Program Written Audits
  • Oversee and cultivate relationships with referral agencies
  • Monitor Resident Exit Survey results and identify concerning trends to bring to leadership
  • Participate in the Scholarship Committee
  • APPLICATION & INTAKE PROCESS Oversee the application process with Application Coordinator
  • Oversee the application process with Intake Coordinator
  • Ensure consistency and quality in applicant review procedures
  • Support improvements to intake systems and workflows
  • Communicate outcomes and recommendations to leadership
  • LEADERSHIP, MENTORSHIP & COMMUNICATION Conduct monthly mentorship meetings with each Program Director
  • Facilitate all monthly Program Director calls
  • Prepare and distribute weekly program update emails
  • Serve as a resource and support for Program Directors
  • Promote collaboration and accountability across program teams
  • STAFF DEVELOPMENT Develop and coordinate staff training initiatives in coordination with VP of Administration and location needs
  • Ensure complaints are handled according to grievance and HR protocols
  • Identify training gaps and areas for professional growth while mentoring program staff
  • DATA & ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT Provide administrative oversight for resident database management
  • Monitor for data entry gaps and ensure accurate reporting
  • Maintain documentation related to audits, training, and surveys
