About The Position

The Program Director serves as a key layer of management between the Chief Program Officer (CPO) and Program Managers. This role provides oversight, coordination, and leadership across all agency programs to ensure compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, and funder requirements. The Program Director is responsible for supporting Program Managers in effective program operations, monitoring performance and compliance, and ensuring that reporting obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in program management, preferably within a nonprofit or human services setting.
  • Licensure or Certification in a Human Services or Health Science field preferred
  • Experience with compliance monitoring, accreditation processes, and funder reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in supervising and developing staff and managing multiple programs or departments.
  • Strong knowledge of program evaluation, quality improvement, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, support, and professional development opportunities to Program Managers across all departments.
  • Ensure alignment of program operations with the organization’s mission, goals, and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with the CPO to implement and monitor program strategies that advance quality services and outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between Program Managers and executive leadership, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Monitor programs to ensure compliance with internal policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of program policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all required programmatic reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time to funders and stakeholders.
  • Track and analyze program performance data to assess outcomes, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work with Program Managers to establish reporting systems that meet both organizational and funder requirements.
  • Collaborate with the CPO and Quality Improvement team to prepare program evaluation reports for leadership, the Board, and accreditation bodies.
  • Support succession planning and talent development within program leadership.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning across all program teams.
