About The Position

As the Director of Product for Payments, you will own the product vision and execution for Canary's payments platform. • Experience navigating regulated environments and complex technical integrations with payment processors and PSPs.
  • Strong product judgment for balancing security, compliance, user experience, and commercial outcomes in payment flows.
  • Proven ability to drive enterprise deals where payments are a critical component. Experience with Vertical B2B SaaS is a strong plus.
  • Technical fluency to partner with Engineering on payments infrastructure, API design, event-driven architectures, and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities and competing stakeholder needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with international payments, chargeback management, fraud prevention, or sales and catering / events management software.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end payments product strategy across the company. Define the multi-year vision that enables Canary to dramatically expand its Payments business.
  • Expand payment processor integrations to unblock Sales and Activation globally. Prioritize integrations based on addressable market, enterprise deal requirements, and international needs.
  • Build and scale payments infrastructure as a platform. Deliver capabilities like card-on-file, tokenization, fraud detection, chargeback prevention, surcharging, currency exchange, and reporting that all application teams can leverage.
  • Coach for outcomes, build payments domain expertise, and develop technical product leaders.
  • Orchestrate complex go-to-market motions with Sales, Partnerships, and Marketing. Structure payment processor agreements, enable the sales team on payment capabilities, and close enterprise deals where payments are a gating requirement.
  • Operate in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. Make pragmatic build vs. buy decisions, ship MVPs to validate hypotheses, and iterate based on customer feedback and payment data.
