About The Position

We're looking for a Director of Product Management to join our product leadership team and report directly to the VP of Product. This is not a squad-level PM role — it's a leadership position that operates across the product organization. You will manage a small group of junior and intermediate Product Managers (2-3 direct reports), coaching them on craft, career growth, and day-to-day execution. Beyond people management, you will be a strategic partner to the VP of Product — taking ownership of cross-squad initiatives, driving alignment on company-wide product priorities, and stepping in to lead high-impact projects that don't fit neatly within a single squad. You will also own and evolve our Product Ops — the systems, rituals, and tooling that make the product team run well. Think: how we plan quarters, how we communicate decisions, how we track outcomes, how we run discovery. You'll be the person who turns good intentions into repeatable processes that scale as the team grows. This role exists because our product team is growing and our challenges are becoming more cross-functional. We need someone who can elevate PM quality across the board, connect the dots between squads, and own the initiatives that fall between the cracks. You'll bring structure where there is ambiguity, and you'll make every PM around you better. We're also looking for someone who is all-in on the AI era of product management. We believe the PM role is being fundamentally reshaped by AI — and we want a leader who doesn't just acknowledge that shift but actively drives it. You'll help define what it means to be a PM at gaiia in 2026 and beyond. You'll collaborate daily with squad-level PMs, Product Designers, Engineering leads, and stakeholders across Customer Success, Sales, and Operations.

Requirements

  • A product leader who gets energy from making other PMs better — not just from shipping their own features.
  • Someone who is genuinely excited about the transformation AI is bringing to product management. You don't just use AI tools — you're obsessed with pushing their limits and rethinking how PMs work from first principles.
  • Strong instincts for when to dive deep into a problem and when to delegate and trust your team.
  • The ability to operate comfortably in ambiguity and bring structure to undefined initiatives.
  • A builder's mindset for Product Ops — you see broken processes as opportunities, not someone else's problem.
  • Excellent communication skills — you can articulate a product strategy to executives, align engineers on priorities, and give tough feedback with care.
  • A collaborative spirit that thrives in a cross-functional, remote-first environment.
  • Genuine curiosity about our industry (telecom, ISPs) and the customer problems we solve.
  • Proficiency in English communication (French is a bonus).
  • A strong product sense grounded in data, customer empathy, and business impact.
  • 7+ years in Product Management, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead PM role.
  • Direct experience managing and developing other Product Managers.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives that span multiple teams or product areas.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS — ideally in complex, multi-module platforms.
  • Proven ability to partner with VP/C-level product leadership on strategy and execution.
  • Strong grasp of product management fundamentals: discovery, prioritization, roadmapping, stakeholder management, and delivery.
  • Experience building or improving product operations — planning rituals, decision frameworks, cross-team communication, outcome tracking.
  • You've seen what good Product Ops looks like and you have opinions about what works and what doesn't at the Series A–C stage.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Linear, Notion) in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience defining and driving product strategy at the portfolio or org level, not just the squad level.
  • Ability to balance long-term vision with near-term execution and make pragmatic trade-offs.
  • Comfort with quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions and measure outcomes.
  • You are all-in on AI as a product management multiplier. You've built real workflows — not just experimented — using tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, or similar to fundamentally change how you do discovery, analysis, writing, and decision-making.
  • You have a point of view on what the PM role looks like in 2026 and beyond, and you're eager to help shape that vision inside a company that shares your ambition.
  • You actively challenge the status quo of how PMs spend their time and push the boundaries of what a small product team can accomplish with the right AI tooling.
  • You're comfortable coaching other PMs on how to integrate AI into their daily work — not as a nice-to-have, but as a core competency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop 2-3 junior and intermediate Product Managers — running regular 1:1s, providing feedback on their work, and helping them grow in their craft.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Product on strategic planning, roadmap prioritization, and product leadership decisions.
  • Own and drive cross-squad initiatives that require coordination across multiple teams, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Raise the bar on product management practices across the organization — from discovery and scoping to stakeholder communication and delivery.
  • Own and continuously improve our Product Ops: planning cadences, decision-making frameworks, communication rituals, and the tooling that ties it all together.
  • Step in to lead or support high-priority projects when the VP of Product needs a trusted partner to take ownership.
  • Facilitate alignment between squads when priorities intersect or conflict, helping the team navigate trade-offs with clarity.
  • Represent the product team in cross-functional discussions with Engineering leadership, Customer Success, Sales, and Operations.
  • Help define and maintain product strategy artifacts — roadmaps, vision documents, quarterly planning — alongside the VP of Product.
  • Actively rethink what it means to be a PM in the AI era. Experiment with AI-powered workflows for discovery, analysis, stakeholder communication, and decision-making — and bring the rest of the PM team along with you.

Benefits

  • Flexible 25-days of vacation.
  • Stock Options Plan.
  • Group Insurance.
  • Telemedicine.
  • Life Spending Account.
  • RRSP & DPSP.
  • Flexible working hours & all-remote work.
