JOB OVERVIEW The Director of Procurement drives Boelter’s enterprise‑wide procurement strategy, ensuring cost‑effective, reliable, and high‑quality sourcing of products, equipment, and services across all divisions—including Foodservice Distribution, Equipment & Supplies, Beverage, and Contract & Design. This role leads the purchasing organization, builds key supplier partnerships, and works cross‑functionally to support operational performance, inventory optimization, and customer satisfaction. The Director is responsible for elevating sourcing capabilities, reducing total cost of ownership, strengthening supply chain resilience, and enabling Boelter’s continued growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a business/industrial related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, and/or material inventory planning including team leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience working with SAP and/or Oracle Planning and Purchasing modules strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS, CPIM, CPM, ISM or ASQ Supply Chain Certification strongly preferred.
  • Six Sigma or LEAN certification strongly preferred.
  • Multi-site leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team, building capabilities in negotiation, supplier management, analytics, and category strategy.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
  • Establish KPIs for team performance and purchasing effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute a company‑wide purchasing strategy supporting Boelter’s growth plans and operational goals.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Inventory, and Category Management teams to align purchasing priorities with demand forecasts and project pipelines.
  • Establish and enforce purchasing policies, processes, and controls across Boelter’s multi‑branch and multi‑division environment.
  • Must possess fundamental knowledge of Materials Resource Planning (MRP), MRP procedures (Consumption based, standard requirements and forecasts, and master production scheduling), and appropriate use of MRP types to drive procurement efficiencies.
  • A desire to improve and simplify our supply chain business processes while navigating through the change management process must allow for scale based on divisional growth.
  • Must be adept at troubleshooting, problem solving, and performing root cause analysis to deploy appropriate solutions and action plans.
  • Direct all procurement activities, ensuring timely fulfillment, optimal lead times, and strong service levels for customer-facing teams.
  • Drive operational consistency, including PO accuracy, purchasing controls, documentation standards, and ERP data integrity (e.g., pricing, lead times, item setup).
  • Lead company-wide cost‑reduction, value‑engineering, and alternative sourcing initiatives.
  • Work with Project Management and Contract & Design teams to ensure equipment and materials are sourced on time and within budget for project execution.
