About The Position

The Director of Strategic Procurement will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of innovative, strategic supply chain solutions that create value and achieve business segment goals with best in class manufacturers and distributors, consistently leveraging across the enterprise to create sustainable value through supply chain management and implementation of purchasing objectives. The role supports the development and ongoing management of assets comprised of Hospitality and Multi-Family residential new construction and renovation projects. Reporting to the SVP of Procurement, the role interfaces with ownership, third party clients, in house and third party design and project management teams.

Requirements

  • BA or BS preferred. 10-20 years purchasing and supply chain management experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Advanced knowledge of Excel, including ability to create and update financial models.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills required, presentation skills desirable.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, risk management and organizational abilities.
  • Superior quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and follow through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify and establish new sources and bid lists for product categories, including vendor prequalification.
  • Analyze opportunities for leveraged procurement across company portfolio.
  • Assist team in research of material vendors, service providers and supply chains and in the development of vendor agreements.
  • Effectively manage multiple complex initiatives with limited supervision.
  • Initiate, develop and execute National Account Programs and Preferred Vendor Pricing Agreements.
  • Through analyzation and optimization, solicit, track and negotiate pricing to lower operating costs, mitigate supply chain risk and improve quality.
  • Derive savings, improve the quality of products and services, enhance budget predictability, accuracy & controls, improve operating efficiencies and enhance profitability.
