About The Position

As the Director of Portfolio Management for Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) and Cybersecurity, you will be responsible for delivering predictable, outcomes-based results across a complex, cross-functional portfolio. You will oversee initiatives such as infrastructure modernization, cloud services, identity & access, security platforms, and resilience programs. Your role is pivotal in driving prioritization, resource planning, and operational performance. By ensuring programs align with Biogen’s enterprise technology roadmap, risk posture, and security strategy, you will bring immense value to the business. You will work closely with I&O tower leads, Cybersecurity leadership, platform owners, project managers, and Finance to forecast, plan and deliver work aligned with business objectives and operational reliability. This role will report into the Head of Global Infrastructure & Operations. What You’ll Do: • Lead portfolio and financial governance for I&O and Cybersecurity, ensuring clear decision rights, operational rigor, and transparent reporting. • Drive integrated portfolio planning for I&O and Cybersecurity, maintaining prioritization frameworks and roadmaps aligned to business and risk outcomes. • Facilitate recurring portfolio and operational reviews covering capacity, risk, technical dependencies, and overall health. • Monitor critical infrastructure and cybersecurity programs, enabling escalation and removal of roadblocks. • Conduct delivery health checks and executive readouts, ensuring delivery to committed scope, schedule, budget, and expected outcomes. • Operate a governed intake process evaluating business justification, risk impact, operational dependencies, and capacity constraints. Your strategic mindset allows you to prioritize work/investments and drive results that align with enterprise goals. You have a strong executive presence and can influence decision-making effectively through clear framing of tradeoffs, risks, and outcomes. With your collaborative approach, you are adept at leading cross-functional teams and engaging with key stakeholders to deliver complex solutions. Your ability to navigate intricate initiatives within regulated environments is unmatched.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Finance or related field.
  • 12+ years in IT with progressive experience across projects, programs, and/or portfolios; 4+ years implementing complex, cross-functional solutions.
  • Proven success leading large, multi-workstream portfolios and governance in enterprise/regulated settings.
  • Practical expertise with modern delivery methods (agile/iterative/waterfall), portfolio tooling, and financial stewardship.
  • Strong executive presence; ability to influence prioritization and drive accountable decision-making.
  • Experience managing large systems integration partners and blended internal/external teams.
  • Experience managing team of 5+ people (hiring, managing employee performance, developing people, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in enterprise technology and cyber risk reduction strategies.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust, network modernization, and cloud migration initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate operational performance reviews and technical dependency assessments.
