About The Position

The Director of People Operations is an influential leader who will partner with the Head of People and collaborate with interdepartmental leadership across the organization. The director will drive key initiatives in planning, directing and developing HR processes and organizational policies. They will directly and indirectly support every facet of the People Operations department; their work will be integral to supporting performance and development for both onsite and remote employees. The director will also be an important champion of the People Team’s ongoing cultivation of an inclusive, healthy, growth-oriented and fun company culture. This leadership role will also particularly own the administration of EO’s various safety program initiatives and regular performance management processes. They will regularly coordinate the communication of company updates and departmental meeting content. Their work supports the People Operations KPIs relating to learning and development, safety incident rates, and employee satisfaction. This position is required to be on-site 100% of the time. Requirements

  • Must be bilingual in Spanish
  • Knowledge of compliance best practice and regulations in California
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion and drive for the People Operations function; proven track record of leading performance in People function
  • Strong creative problem solving, group collaboration, and influencing, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
  • Strong computer literacy skills with proficiency in communication software and HRIS systems
  • Ability and past success in multitasking and triaging competing priorities
  • Demonstrated grace-under-fire professionalism
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Human Resources/People Department with at least 3 years managing general HR responsibilities including employee relations required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior payroll experience preferred
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or majority non-exempt environment strongly preferred
  • SHRM certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead best-in-class service-oriented department, using data to drive decisions while keeping the ‘human’ in human resources at the forefront of recommendations
  • Promote and model a positive, respectful workplace through an effective open-door policy, creativity, self-confidence, and trust
  • Demonstrate advocacy, authority and fairness in resolving issues while maintaining the high standard of people service of the organization
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to promote continuous improvement
  • Partner with HOP and People Team to support all aspects of the People Team discipline at EOP; support talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits administration, training, leaves of absence, workers compensation, occupational health and safety, and compensation administration as needed
  • Coach, develop, and support People Team members; coordinate scheduling, departmental payroll needs, and departmental representation across all three EO campus buildings
  • Act as primary coordinator of monthly Catalyst meeting content and quarterly All Screens logistics planning—organizing third party vendor support as needed (interpretation, translation, rental equipment, IT support)
  • Oversee the administration and continuous improvement of EO’s regular performance management processes, including disputes, investigations, disciplinary matters, issue resolution, workplace investigations and any related documentation
  • Participate in the evolution of EO’s company-wide performance management system updates
  • Support employee offboarding; conduct exit interviews and coordinate any related follow-up activities or communications
  • Manage incident reporting process across the organization; ensure full completion of reporting, safety investigations, and action item completion with process stakeholders
  • Facilitate regular safety committee meetings
  • Project manage interdepartmental safety initiatives developed from safety committee, tracking action items to completion
  • Support the People Team generalist in tracking of training completion, and safety certification management (PITs, scissor lifts, CPR, etc)
  • Support a safe working environment by reporting any unsafe conditions or observed, unsafe conduct
  • Regularly create opportunities to connect with all departments for feedback, accessibility, and developmental opportunities on all levels of the organization
  • Perform other tasks and projects as directed by the manager
