About The Position

As the Director of People Data Science, you will serve as a strategic advisor to Human Resources, Finance, and business leadership, leading the enterprise People Analytics and Data Science function. This role transforms workforce data into insights that influence board‑level decisions, enterprise talent strategy, and long-range workforce planning, while ensuring scalable, secure, and modern analytics capabilities. You will report directly to our Leader of HR Data Analytics and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience leading teams focused on data analysis, statistical modeling, or another related field.
  • Proven experience delivering large, complex analytics and data‑science initiatives in enterprise environments.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
  • Experience influencing executive and board‑level decisions using data and analytics.
  • Hands‑on technical proficiency in: Python and/or R for analytics, modeling, and automation Statistics and machine learning techniques (predictive modeling, experimentation, validation)
  • Experience working with cloud analytics platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience designing or overseeing dashboards and analytics solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and/or Alteryx.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent experience applying continuous‑improvement methodologies in analytics or HR environments.
  • Experience applying machine learning, GenAI, and advanced analytics within HR, talent, or workforce contexts.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, analytics platforms, and modern BI ecosystems.
  • Ability to align technical analytics capabilities with business and HR strategy.
  • Strong data storytelling and executive communication skills.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise People Analytics & Strategy Define and execute the enterprise people analytics and data science strategy, advancing from descriptive reporting to predictive, prescriptive, and AI‑enabled insights. Develop analytics roadmap aligned with workforce strategy, operating plans, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Board & Executive Decision Support Develop board and executive‑level materials, delivering actionable insights that inform compensation design, workforce planning, recruiting strategy, and leadership investment decisions. Translate advanced analytics into clear, executive-ready narratives and recommendations.
  • Organization Design & Organizational Health Partner with Organization Design and Workforce Planning leaders to assess and optimize organizational structure, spans of control, leadership layers, and workforce scalability. Apply statistical modeling and machine learning to identify leading indicators of attrition, engagement shifts, and leadership risk, enabling proactive intervention.
  • Executive, Engagement & Sentiment Analytics Deliver advanced survey, sentiment, and behavioral analytics that influence leadership development, compensation strategy, and workforce planning. Measure ROI of leadership and talent programs through experimental design, statistical analysis, and longitudinal modeling.
  • Advanced Analytics & AI Enablement Lead the design and deployment of machine‑learning and predictive models (e.g., attrition risk, engagement trends, workforce demand). Apply statistical methods (regression, hypothesis testing, causal inference) to validate insights and support decision‑making. Ensure ethical, compliant, and explainable use of AI and advanced analytics in people‑related decisions. Provide technical leadership across analytics platforms and tools, including: Python and R for data science, modeling, and analytics automation Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx for visualization, analytics workflows, and self-service insights AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for scalable analytics, data pipelines, and ML enablement Ensure analytics solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
