About The Position

Ericsson is seeking a visionary and execution-oriented Director of Data Science to lead a high-performing AI/ML team driving and delivering high-impact solutions that advance Ericsson’s strategic AI initiatives. This role will lead a team of data scientists and data engineers working with cutting-edge AI technologies to develop enterprise-grade solutions in collaboration with partners and internal stakeholders across Ericsson’s AI portfolio. The Director will play a critical role in identifying strategic engagement opportunities and latest AI technology that will power intelligent, autonomous, and trustworthy networks as part of Ericsson’s portfolio.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading AI/ML teams in enterprise or research-to-production environments.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and scaling AI products into production.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with modern AI technologies,
  • including:
  • -Foundation models (LLMs, multimodal models)
  • -Agentic AI systems
  • -Orchestration frameworks
  • -Model evaluation and optimization
  • -Deployment at scale
  • Experience delivering under ambiguity and solving complex system-level challenges.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence diverse audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in telecom, network systems, or AI-for-Networks domains.
  • Experience integrating AI systems into mission-critical enterprise platforms.
  • Background in AI governance, safety, and trustworthy AI systems.

  • Lead and mentor team of data scientists and AI engineers.

  • Ensure AI systems meet performance, reliability, and trustworthiness standards.
  • Engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders with clarity and impact.
  • Partner with product, engineering, research, and portfolio teams globally.
  • Translate complex AI concepts into business value narratives.
  • Drive innovation across organizational boundaries.
