About The Position

Director of Outpatient Services Opportunity! Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PVBH is an 84-bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PVBH has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in Tucson, AZ, at the base of the Catalina Foothills, PVBH is minutes to Saguaro National Park and the University of Arizona. The Director of OutpatientServices is a key member of the Palo Verde leadership team who supervises social work staff and ensures that in-services and trainings are provided on a regular basis, develops and analyzes the effectiveness of programming. Ensures all Performance Improvement standards are monitored and feedback given to appropriate staff. Coordinates student intern placements. Assists in the hiring and evaluation of social work staff. Interfaces with staff at all levels. Directly supervises IOP, inpatient Social Services, and recreational employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social, behavioral, or mental health services field from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Examiners as an LPC, LCSW, or Clinical Psychologist
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a program director or higher-level position.
  • Experience with overseeing services in an outpatient environment, preferably in mental health.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

  • Telehealth experience is advantageous.
