About The Position

Our client is looking for a Director of Operations for their wealth management Tampa office. The Opportunity This is a pivotal leadership role for an operations professional ready to lead the functional infrastructure within a growing financial firm. As the Director of Operations, you will serve as the architect of the firm’s back-office, driving the transition toward a highly scalable, technology-driven operational model. This position is designed as a high-impact leadership track; for a proven performer who demonstrates strategic influence and operational excellence, there is a clear path to executive leadership as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, you will move beyond daily transactional tasks to lead strategic systems design and long-term organizational management.

Requirements

  • You bring 3–5 years of experience in wealth management operations, preferably within an independent RIA.
  • You have a deep background in reporting, billing, data analysis, or financial planning systems.
  • You possess strong software aptitude, with experience in complex reporting platforms like Addepar (highly preferred) or Black Diamond.
  • You are a "builder" who is energized by the challenge of creating new processes rather than just maintaining the status quo.
  • You have the drive to navigate complex, multi-asset reporting environments and are comfortable with 10–20% travel to support firm locations.

Responsibilities

  • Own all back-office operations and design the scalable systems that support a best-in-class family office experience.
  • Take full ownership of financial reporting and complex hard-dollar billing across various asset classes.
  • Manage the reporting infrastructure and databases, ensuring comprehensive coverage of entire family balance sheets, including businesses, real estate, and alternatives.
  • Drive process design and utilization within the CRM, building workflows that advisors can adopt and scale.
  • Directly manage the Reporting Specialist, lead future hires (CSAs), and manage relationships with custodians and technology partners.
  • Oversee HR, benefits administration, and vendor-supported compliance functions.
